TWO OUT OF THREE FOR ANOTHER DAQMAN DAY IN PROFIT: Kitaabaat (WON 3-1) and Gamestars Icon (WON 2-1) gave Daqman two winners out of three yesterday for a profit of 6.50 on the day. This afternoon he steps up the stakes for a final fling at supernap level, hoping the last two days of the Flat season present him with bull’s-eye bets.
DONCASTER IN DOUBT: INSPECTION ON FRIDAY MORNING: But it could be that Nottingham yesterday was the end of the Flat on grass. Those supernaps today are over the sticks at Newbury, and Doncaster’s November Handicap day on Saturday faces an inspection at 8 a.m tomorrow. Daqman is told that the track is virtually waterlogged

⚠️ HEADS UP! Deja is one of only three winners this year for the two-times Derby winning trainer, Peter Chapple-Hyam: after Dr Devious, it was deja vu then, when Authorized won in 2007.
Unbeaten in four starts since his maiden, Deja would balance Peter’s books for the season if he could win the November Handicap at Doncaster on Saturday.
The market says he’s a last-day-of-the-Flat gamble (7-1 to 9-2 with the bookies).
That’s despite a halving in price for Collide (Hugo Palmer and Cieren Fallon). If you fancy Deja or Collide, it’s now best to wait for BETDAQ on the day, with the rain still falling.
⚠️ HEADS UP! Two big weekend races have hat-trick seekers to the fore in their markets. Present Man (Paul Nicholls) lost his form after winning the Silver Trophy at Wincanton for the second year running 12 months ago, but is higher in the handicap and with Bryony Frost now unable to claim.
My man in the long grass tells me of something else in the race that is so far unconsidered but has been working well. Watch this space for a BETDAQ punt!
⚠️ HEADS UP! ‘Easily’ and ‘comfortably’. Those are the form-book verdicts on Apple Jade’s back-to-back wins in next Sunday’s Lismullen Hurdle at Navan. Apple Jade is 10lb the best horse in the race as he bids for the hat-trick, though Willie Mullins sole acceptor, Bacardys, was Ladbrokes Champion Stayers’ runner-up at Punchestown, while Apple’s Jade was only fifth in the Champion Hurdle there the following day.
ALTIOR’S BRISTOL CHALLENGE
⚠️ HEADS UP! Altior is a surprise entry by Nicky Henderson for the Haydock Chase on Saturday fortnight, November 23, where he would take on the holder, Bristol de Mai.
Altior is unbeaten in 14 steeplechase starts and ranks top of the tree with a rating of 175. Bristol de Mai (170) has taken the last two runnings of the Haydock race, and has won four times on the course.
Henderson’s win in the Haldon Gold Cup this week (Janika) was a marker that his team is up for the early prizes of the season, with The Champ reappearing today and 14 contenders on Friday and Saturday.
Floressa (2.35 Newbury) is this afternoon’s Henderson star but there’s a really hot contest at Market Rasen that could also produce a decent mare.
2.15 Market Rasen Here are five winners of 25 races, though wide apart in the ratings from a 93 (Heavenly Promise) to The Bay Birch on 152.
Heavenly Promise, raised to Listed level here, has won only in class 4 and 5, but trainer Fergal O’Brien is in tremendous form with a current strike rate of almost 40%.
Angel of Harlem, a hurdles winner at Market Rasen, broke her chase maiden at Uttoxeter when only two finished and disappointed at Fakenham.
Annie Angel ‘could be anything’ at around 4-1 this morning, completing a hat-trick over fences in class 4 with all-the-way wide margin wins the last twice.
The Bay Birch, another to complete a hat-trick recently, is officially 20lb in front of Annie. Her last two wins at class-2 level on tough tracks at Chepstow and Haydock.
Atlanta Blaze is 2-3 still standing after a break. Twice a Listed winner since finishing third in this race last year.
HENDERSON HOT AT NEWBURY
2.05 Newbury The last two supernaps charged to the Flat season account will be a Henderson pair at Newbury this afternoon, and I’ll be presenting a new betting system for the Jumps next week.
Champ retains his top staying entries over hurdles this season, after his Ballymore win at Cheltenham and Sefton second at Aintree.
He beat a potential Paul Nicholls star in Getaway Trump when completing back-to-back wins here at Newbury last December, and should open all the options with a first-time chase win there today.
2.35 Newbury The filly Floressa, 2.3 in the BETDAQ orange this morning, leapt on to my horses-to-follow list for Fortune Cookies in the new year, with a comfortable stroll around Worcester last month.
It’s an old firm battle again, since the likely danger is the Nicholls runners, Silver Forever.
3.10 Newbury Henderson again. He has Diablo De Rouhet at 4.2 BETDAQ favourite for this Pertemps qualifier but there’s strong opposition from trainer-in-form Kim Bailey with Robin The Raven and just-struck form Venetia Williams with Geordie B.
The race is a prep for big flings over fences soon by Daklondike and Dingo Dollar, and Canyon City won’t like the rain.
