BETDAQ FOR COMFORT AND VALUE: Daqman takes the high road to Scotland, then down to Wales and crosses back into England today, a 438-mile trip to take in seven hours of racing. But he just has to call up BETDAQ value to see it all, without spending a penny on petrol.

BIG RACES UNDER BOTH RULES: More and varied racing at the weekend, from the Irish Oaks at the Curragh to the Summer Plate over fences at Market Rasen.

SALLAAL SET TO IMPROVE

⭕ 3.22 Hamilton Splashing out on petrol to cash in on this class-2 Almada Mile are Newmarket trainer Roger Varian and Lambourn’s Ed Walker.

After celebrated an excellent Spring, Ed had a frustrating run of 21 losers – which continues at home – until broken by a brilliant front-running ride at Longchamp on Sunday by Kieran Shoemark.

Kieran on Qilin Queen – eighth in the Oaks – managed to hold off Colin Keane’s 30-100 favourite, Sunly, who had landed a home hat-trick for Francis-Henri Graffard.

Walker leaves the cheekpieces off English Oak; they didn’t seem to help at Royal Ascot, where he ran 20 lengths behind the winner in the Buckingham Palace Stakes.

Most of these have been struggling for form but Theoryofeverything, a course winner here, stopped the slide by winning at Ayr, so has a penalty.

I’ll take Roger Varian’s lightly-raced improver Sallaal, whose only defeat in three starts was behind the occasionally smart Almeric in a small-field Listed.

‘DOCK OF THE BAY’ DAY

⭕ 4.50 Chepstow Very few horses but well-plotted chances. Last week trainers John and Rhys Flint took a seven-year-old from Bridgend to Newbury and made all the running over a field which included short-priced three-year-olds.

It’s less than 50 miles to their local track at Chepstow today where they saddle another seven-year-old, Spirit Of The Bay, who has won here off a higher mark. Betdaq Betting Exchange 4.5.

THE PRIME OF MISS BRODIE

⭕ 7.35 Epsom (Ladies Derby) Gordon Grey is asked to win again, 9lb higher than last year when he made all in this race and took his turf figures to 22121.

Though the Australia grey, ridden by Brodie Hampson, has since won a grade higher on AW and scored from the front over hurdles, he is up only 6lb. BETDAQ 7.0 taken.

You have to back Secret Beach as well, because he’s from the same stable. Raised 7lb in future, but escapes a penalty today, for a comfortable York success under an apprentice six days ago.

EYE, EYE! IT’S A HOME WIN

⭕ 8.40 Epsom Craig Benton, Jim Boyle, Pat Phelan, Simon Dow are all hoping to keep a few quid at home in Epsom.

It’s not a prize the locals usually hold on to but Phelan’s Apple Of My Eye looked promising at Lingfield the last day and this is her first time qualified for handicaps.

Breeders will be keeping an Expert Eye on her! She’s by the sire of that name, first foal of a staying mare by Frankel.

Rory Rocket, who finished in front of her at Lingfield, runs in the 3.45 Chepstow, also making his handicap debut: a good show by him could boost Apple Of My Eye. BETDAQ 7.4 taken

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
