COBDEN FOR McMANUS
⭕ 2.51 Huntingdon A fresh student of racing would be forgiven for arriving early at the conclusion that J P McManus is determined to employ every trainer in England.
Today the gold and green is being carried by a ‘hidden horse’, in the care of Faye Bramley, who had her first runner in March last year.
Two clues to the McManus connection: firstly, she is based at Sir A P McCoy’s pre-training yard at Lambourn; secondly, within nine months of her first runner at Southwell, she had trained Glengouly to win of the December Gold Cup under champion-jockey Sean Bowen.
Today’s chosen pilot for Kom Tu Voudras is Harry Cobden, who has rare rides for McManus, even though signed up to be his retained jockey at the start of the next jumps season in May.
BAGATELLE BIG AT 20.0
⭕ 3.43 Sedgefield Sean Bowen failed to score with a front-running drive on A Mere Bagatelle at Worcester in August and the ground was too deep at Lingfield two weeks back when he tried to give nearly two stone to the three-lengths winner.
Back up in trip he goes to Sedgefield as trainer James Owen sprays winners everywhere, currently on a hat-trick after two strikes at Kempton yesterday, totalling 4-6 from two at Wolverhampton, and that following on two in two days at Chelmsford and Lingfield.
Owen has a likely odds-on chance in the opening race at Huntingdon (Bowen on Secret Des Dieux) but claiming off ‘Bagatelle’ here brings the weight down to his winning mark when scoring for ‘Shark’ Hanlon in Ireland. BETDAQ 20.0.
Conditions also suit Avalon Beach. His jockey, Danny McMenamin, has remained in good form, with two winners since taking the Haydock Grand National trial on Grand Geste. Betdaq Betting Exchange 6.1
HATS OFF FOR CALLUM
⭕ 3.57 Newcastle Andrew Balding is in a different league to other trainers in this race and, though Callum Hutchinson has had twice as many winners, he sneaks into this restricted-riders contest.
They are the connections of Hatysa who improved race by race in the summer (3-4) and won easily over today’s Newcastle CD.
Going up a grade here drops the well-related Sea The Stars filly into the bottom of the handicap, getting a stone and more from the top-weights. BETDAQ 4.3.
Only one other in the race is just turned four; Team Player, not disgraced when he stepped up to his only class 3, beaten a neck in the Shergar Cup but untried at this trip of 2m.
Alrazeen who, last February completed a hat-trick when taking a class 2 at Kempton and, back on the same mark at the same level, was beaten a neck at Southwell in December. BETDAQ 8.5

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
