BACK-TO-BACK DAQMAN NAPS UP: Daqman’s winning double in consecutive races at Haydock yesterday both finished seven or eight lengths clear in power drives to capture class-2 events. The two together backed up Monday’s pair for profit and the first winner backed up Tuesday’s nap. It’s the stuff Daqman sequences are made of!

VENETIA WINNERS FLOWING

⭕ 2.35 Wincanton (Silver Buck Chase) Only Venetia Williams has won this with a horse older than eight, and 10-year-old Flowing Cadenza could keep the stable’s current form flowing.

Cloudy Glen yesterday produced Venetia’s 10th winner in 12 days for four out of seven since Friday.

Flowing Cadenza was impressive with a double which shot her 18lb up the handicap, breaking her maiden in a class 2 and then romping home six lengths in an open handicap.

We haven’t seen her for nearly two years (hence BETDAQ offers of 9.9.) but that seldom worries this yard, and her claiming rider, Ned Fox, is 4-6 and has eight consecutive in a place.

Sherborne (the name of the next big town to Wincanton) is trained by Joe Tizzard near Milborne Port (the next big village to Wincanton)!

But Sherborne does the next best thing to winning; he’s been second three times in a row.

He won a novices at this meeting a year or so ago but that was over 2m 4f, and this 3m 1f handicap is his second try at 3m-plus after pulling up at Exeter on New Year’s Day.

Tizzard also runs Striking A Pose, who has been running in higher grades of chase and hurdle but hasn’t won a race since a novice at Exeter in November, 2021. I See The Sea hasn’t won a race, full stop.

Poppa Poutine has won only one chase and that was over the CV in March, 2022, and raced just once within the following year.

That leaves 4.9 offer Pachacuti, who might easily be the winner: he scored over the Wincanton CD in February.

But David Pipe is hard to catch right. He won this in 2017 but his Plumpton scorer on Monday was his first after a long string of blanks.

SKELTON FAVOURITES HOT

1.15 Market Rasen Dan Skelton has plundered his local Midlands tracks, including Market Rasen, where he’s had 101 winners for a 24% strike rate but with 55% placed.

Sunray Shadow, already has a 119 rating, after being pipped half a length on his hurdles debut at Warwick and then – stepped up to today’s trip – beating one placed three times in class 2.

The obvious threat is Irish Point winner, It’s Hard To Know, who made a winning hurdles debut at Lingfield.

But trainer Ben Pauling has mostly missed strike with his well-backed runners, as revealed by these returns for his favourites in the last two weeks: 3122002.

In that time, Skelton’s outright favourites have recorded returns of 42112111121. Sunray Shadow was 2.68 this morning.

⭕ 2.25 Leicester Chris Gordon and conditional-jockey son Freddie have some pretty neat form figures of their own right now, with 1123310 in the last two weeks.

The Gordon team is all the rage with Davids Well in his debut over fences at Leicester this afternoon.

He’s bred for honours in the chasing game, son of Getaway out of a Westerner mare, and won a hurdle at Plumpton by 14 lengths last time the money was down.

HIS BROTHER WON AN ARC!

⭕ 5.40 Chelmsford A 725,000gns yearling, Wiliam Walton has had his three maidens and is in here off 78, well drawn and significantly upped to 1m 6f.

Brother to Arc winner Waldgeist, the Galileo gelding is out of a Group-3-winning mare and surely some of his innate talent can emerge at this class-4 level under the guidance of Owen Burrows.

This is Burrows best stamping ground (22% strike rate) among the AW tracks, with horses prepared at Kempton and Lingfield. William Walton is around 2-1 as I write.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
