NOW 14 DAQMAN WINS IN 10 DAYS: Daqman’s a Bobby dazzler! He continued his latest winning sequence yesterday with Bobby Bennu, napped at Thirsk. It was win number 14 in 10 days without a blank day.
WON 1-1 BOBBY BENNU (Wednesday nap)
WON 9-4 FAIRY GLEN (Tuesday)
WON 11-4 THE DRAGON KING (Monday)
* A full list of last week’s winners appeared in Monday’s Daqman.
A DAY TO PUNT BIG BETDAQ OFFERS: Daqman finds 11.0 and 17.0 outsiders at Epsom today but relies on Ryan Moore for the nap at Leopardstown.
MOORE MAGIC FOR THE MELD
⭕ 6.50 Leopardstown (Meld Stakes) He is a mere lad of 37 but Novak Djokovic’s 24 singles grand slams are now behind him. Even younger is yesterday’s man, Rory McIlroy (35), golfer of the year 2012, 2014 and 2015.
The invincible new kids on the block are 21-year-old Carlos Alcaraz and Scottie Scheffler, 28 last week and right now on show to the world at Troon.
But Ryan Lee Moore, who is in his 41st year, has never ridden better, leaving behind his championships of 2006, 2008 and 2009 not to fight losing battles but to ascend the world stage.
I like to see Moore when he has to work, mentally and physically, to win and his mount is not one of those Aidan O’Brien ‘certainties,’ floated on ballyhoo.
I would rather a Diego Velazquez (pictured below), for whom the trip and the opposition seem perfect today.
Rated 111, yet he receives weight from all the older horses, and what he’s giving away to his own generation still leaves every one of them lacking.
Champions Juvenile winner here at Leopardstown (1m good) as a two-year-old, Diego Velazquez was down the pecking order behind the likes of City Of Troy, so was deputed to France for their 2,000 Guineas (beaten only a length) and Derby, where he dropped away only in the final furlong.
Irish 1,000 Guineas fourth in 2023, Tarawa was beaten by Bold Discovery last July. Scored here at Leopardstown last month but was getting 5lb from a 110 rated, whereas today she gives a pound to Diego’s 111.
Tarawa travels strongly and likes to lead, so I will be biting my nails for Moore to track her and take her. Betdaq Betting Exchange 2.5 says he will.
ROUNDABOUT 17.0 ON BETDAQ
⭕ 6.30 Epsom (Steve Donoghue Handicap) I never saw Steve Donoghue, though some of you think I did!
Six times Derby winner at Epsom, he was still riding at the age of 52 when he won the Oaks there on Exhibitionist.
Local trainer Simon Dow, who kept this prize at home last year, tries for back-to-back success via Roundabout Silver, who has dropped 8lb below her last winning mark and has Hollie Doyle booked. Yet 17.0 on BETDAQ this morning.
Uncle Dick is a Brighton specialist – all six wins there – and was a three-year-old last time he was even placed off his current high mark; he’s now six.
Blenheim Star is chasing his Brighton record with two wins there but is up in the ratings in consequence.
Hello Cotai, second here over further in a lower grade, has never actually won a race, so Adam West has called in Oisin Murphy to try to break the sequence of place-only success: 24232.
Unreal Connection might be a bigger danger to Roundabout Silver, winner of her maiden here and now racing off her lowest handicap mark.
NORTHERN RAIDER 11.0 VALUE
⭕ 7.35 Epsom (Ladies Derby Handicap) Flat-race winners who lose their speed might turn to the Jumps: hurdles then chases.
Martin Spirit, the only CD winner in this race, has a topsy-turvy career which started with winning a chase in 2021, then this year a hurdle in March at Plumpton and finally a handicap on the Flat here at Epsom earlier this month.
Roost had his sole success when dropped to this class 5 under a female jockey. Many will tell you there is none more experienced than Serena Brotherton. BETDAQ 6.5 best offers this morning.
But the race is a return to a top-line partnership for Emily Roberts, riding Sameem for Tim Easterby. BETDAQ 11.0 taken.
They have won three races together in the North and would have been a high-stakes bet for me had the race been run yesterday: has won on all types of ground but would be a confident choice on Epsom soft.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
