INSPIRAL (3yo filly) May Hill and Fillies Mile 2yo winner had to miss the early season but back to form in the Coronation Stakes and Prix Jacques Le Marois.
KYPRIOS (4) Five in a row this year, including Gold Cups at Ascot and Goodwood, and scintillating in the Irish St Leger, though dropped back to 1m 6f.
LUXEMBOURG (3) Futurity 2yo winner needed a break after third in the 2,000 Guineas but bounced back big time to win the Curragh Royal Whip and the Irish Champion Stakes.
NATURE STRIP (7) King Stand winner kept in the Cookies for International dates but not seen since. Now see tomorrow’s Daqman on world leaders.
TRUESHAN (6) Five wins in a row including British Champions Long Distance Cup, 2021, and defeat of Stradivarius in the Cadran, both on soft. After taking Northumberland Plate in June off huge weight, not get his ground and Cup defeats by Kyprios at Goodwood and Coltrane at Doncaster.
VADENI (3) Hat-trick including French Derby and Eclipse but turned over in the Irish Champion Stakes after a break.

AL RIFFA Joseph O’Brien puts his money where his mouth is! He supplemented Thunder Moon to win the National Stakes (2020) and did the same with Al Riffa at a cost of 40,0000 euros; result Dylan Browne McGonagale rode his first Group-1 winner in style.
AUGUSTE RODIN The 2023 Derby favourite after showing a beautiful physique and mature action – only did enough – to take the Champions Juvenile at Leopardstown.
LITTLE BIG BEAR Likely out for the season to fully recover from an injury (kicked a wall) received BEFORE he won the Phoenix Stakes in sensational style by seven lengths.
MEDITATE (filly) Four in a row and clear in the Moyglare on soft before Tahiyra swooped. They can split juvenile-filly prizes between them.
SAKHEER was winning only a class-4 novice at Haydock but did it in a canter. His sire, Zoffany, got within a length of Frankel at Royal Ascot.
TAHYIRA (filly) Meditate seemed to have the Moyglare in the bag until Dermot Weld’s Tahiyra came by. The Aga Khan’s Siyouni half-sister to Tarnawa will likely put Weld back on the international stage as she did.
15.0 CHICHESTER IN WITH A CHANCE
⭕ 3.00 Ayr (Kilkerran Cup) Older horses are 10-0 down to the youngsters (aged 3 and 4) but Chichester – now 5 – was very impressive when he took this race a year ago and his rating shot up from 88 to 104.
Down to 94 today, he must have every chance of regaining that form, with today’s team of youngsters reduced to just four of the runners.
One of them, the Frankel colt Al Mubhir, is unexposed and put in a good effort at Goodwood the last day for the stable of William Haggas, who places them as though he has a hand of all aces.
Yorkshire Lady scored back to back at this time last year and ran fourth at York to the high-class handicappers State Occasion and Amanzoe in only her second reappearance run.

TWO GENERATIONS UNDER FRANKIE
⭕ 7.15 Newcastle Frankie Dettori was four-out-of-seven on Dubawi; now here he is for Team Charlton riding Out From Under, a son of Dubawi who hasn’t been out of the frame since his debut (form 221322).
Fresh Hope is also consistent and her CD win puts her in the picture but stall 3 is not helpful. Street Kid has a better chance out of 11 but has to give weight to both.
Desert Land is 2-2 here at Newcastle but in much lesser company, while Swiss Ace, a winner and third here in the Spring, has been less than three lengths off the winner each time, stepped up to class 2, and trying 6f, 7f and 1m.

JET-PROPELLED LIR IS SPECIALE
⭕ 8.15 Newcastle Roger Varian is 12-40 (that’s a 30% strike rate) after landing the nap for us yesterday, bringing Bayside Boy back to his stylish self.
The stable has won both times this season with Lir Speciale when that one has been a well backed favourite. Well drawn, though has to adapt to the surface.
Since Newcastle is Roger’s second best track for winners (24% strike rate), and his best is another AW surface at Kempton, we are right Im sure to assume that his string gets plenty of preparation for man-made tracks.
Vying for head of the market is Badri, who stepped up to class 3 here last month and at Southwell in July, both successful but both raising him up.
Now he’s on 90, he must improve again, giving weight to most, including five three-year-olds.
