KATE’S OUR MATE

⭕ 2.25 Wincanton This might set some kind of quirky record in that nine of the 15 runners were pulled up last time out!

There would appear to be plenty making up the numbers so I’ll stick to the front end of the Betdaq Betting Exchange market where Olivia Kate looks not only the form choice but also best in terms of value.

She stormed home by 18 lengths at Ludlow in November but then disappointed at Uttoxeter in December when seemingly suffering nothing more than a bad day at the office.

However, her most recent start at Exeter, earlier this month, was much more like it when she ran a close second to Coconut Twist.

Gentleman Jacques is 0-13 and his overall form gives him something to find but on the positive side his trainer Emma Lavelle is in good form (4 winners from last 19). His latest effort at Exeter was a bit more like it when he chased home Keable who looked a handicap good thing that day.

It’s no surprise to see Our Bill’s Aunt heading the morning market after her heavy ground win at Leicester just nine days ago. She escapes a penalty given it came in a conditional/amateur riders race but whether she can back up that 25/1 win relatively quickly remains to be seen. Usually I like to see a bigger gap between heavy ground runs.

NO SAGA WITH FORSYTE

⭕ 4.12 Southwell It might just be a case of pressing the repeat button here with Soames Forsyte who was a comfortable course and distance winner 16 days ago. The drop back to seven furlongs seemed to work well and he won with enough in hand to suggest he can handle the 4lb hike.

Overnight Oats has paid the price for four wins in a row between November and December but ran a solid enough race at Lingfield last time out to suggest he can still be troublesome off his revised mark.

SPRAWLING OVER LONGER TRIP

⭕ 8.00 Chelmsford Urban Sprawl was staying on to good effect when third here over a mile earlier in the month and is certainly worth trying over 1m 2f.

He’s also down down in class and five pound claimer Archie Young finished second on him at Ayr last year.

Rainwater is continuing to run well but is now up a grade and the Richard Fahey trained/owned runner might struggle in class 4 given his only previous win in 16 starts came at class 6.

Samra Star is worth including given that she is open to further improvement on just her sixth start and Rossa Ryan riding her for the first time is an obvious positive.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
