THREE NAPS UP OUT OF FOUR: Daqman, who made 157 points profit in five days (winners listed yesterday), landed his third winning nap in four days with White Crown Star at Kempton last night.
WON 5-6 WHITE CROWN STAR (Wednesday nap)
WON 5-4 KATE O’RILEY (Monday nap)
WON 5-1 RED HAPPY (Sunday nap)
THREE-STAR LINCOLN RATINGS: Daqman today finds seven probables which fit the three main stats for Saturday’s Lincoln Handicap.
LINCOLN HANDICAP LUCKY 7
⭕ 3.35 Doncaster, Saturday (Lincoln Handicap) GOING: Good to soft (soft in places) makes it tempting to look for a lightweight, but there have been only three winners below 9st in 15 years.
LAYS LOGIC: Just one favourite has won in 14 years and 14 of the last 22 failed to reach the frame. In the last nine seasons, the favourite has averaged 3.7-1 at SP.
DRAW: Low 1, 2, 3, 4 (five), middle 10, 12, 15, 16, 17 (seven), high 20, 22 (two). Low numbers best on soft ground.
***AGE: four and five year olds have won seven out of eight. Only three aged seven and older have scored since 1965.
***RATINGS: 95 to 104 have won 12 out of 14
***DISTANCE WINNERS have an 80% strike rate but previous course success is not essential.
THREE-STAR LINE-UP: Apiarist, Flying Finn, Magnum Opus, Midnight Gun, Oliver Show, Talis Evolvere, Thunder Run.
WATCH THE BIRDIE FOR SNIPE
⭕ 4.32 Warwick (Staying Chase Series Final) The home crowd will get behind Dan Skelton today but he is currently muted about his trainer’s title, with the Aintree prizemoney still up for grabs, though I’m sure there’ll be corks popping at the Warwick meeting in Easter week. He’s £770k in front.
Punters have good reason for betting on Dan and jockey brother Harry to make them a few bob on a track where the yard has made more than £1.25m profit for its owners.
It’s half an hour down the road via Stratford to drive Snipe and four others to play this home match. To be or not to be..
Even if Snipe wins this 3m chase, it may all be down to a huge hint dropped by stablemate Sail Away: he knows the score with The Doyen Chief, four lengths off him at Kempton 12 days ago and better off at the weights, helped by a 7lb claim.
Harry chooses Snipe, dropped down from Grade-3 runs, including a place in the Great Yorkshire, and now in first-time cheekpieces. He likes small fields.
OLLY IS THE PUNTERS CHAMP
⭕ 4.40 Southwell The punters trainer of the jumps season must surely be Olly Murphy, another Warwicks trainer who swerves a clash with Skelton today in favour of Southwell.
Murphy’s 119 winners puts him second in the table numerically, but top on his 24% strike rate, showing an overall profit of 29 points to single-unit stakes.
Coastal Rock in this one and Tramuntana in the 5.40 were both winners last time out. Jockey Sean Bowen has already won on Coastal Rock.
HOLLIE HAS PERFECT CHANCE
⭕ 6.10 Wolverhampton Interesting to see Perfect Life back at Dunstall Park. The Marco Botti grey floored an odds-on shot of the Gosdens on this course in December and Hollie Doyle, who knows him from his debut, is back in the saddle tonight. Too big this morning at 10.0 offers on Betdaq Betting Exchange, Circus Of Rome was 4-9 favourite at Chelmsford, also in December, but was beaten by the runner-up to a Coventry Stakes placer.
However, the handicapper decided to keep him on a mark a pound behind his earlier conqueror at Lingfield, who recently struggled to hold on against a poor Wolver field at 7-1 on.
