SKELTON HAS TRAINERS’ TITLE
It’s likely to be Desperate Dan again. But the lead trainer Skelton has now could be enough to hold off the Spring challenge from Willie Mullins in the British trainers’ championship race.
Daqman comes up with the following finishing order, naming the horses that will run for glory in the graded races and top handicaps.
READ ACROSS, left to right : current total of winners, then in brackets win percentage last season and this so far.

NOT LAYING MALAYA
⭕ 2.35 Taunton Melton Mossy blotted his copybook when refusing to race at Ludlow last month and those who backed him at 5/4 will no doubt be still nursing the wounds. He made amends in good style with a win over course and distance and is now up 7lb but you do wonder whether the refusal to race might come back and you don’t want to be playing at short odds to find our really.
Just A Rose was disputing favouritism in the morning Betdaq Betting Exchange market. The Paul Nicholls trained runner is also a course and distance winner here – by 26 lengths no less, but was then pulled up when looking outclassed in the Ryanair Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival where she jumped badly. She is having her first start since and has also undergone wind surgery.
Him Malaya is the Nicholls second strong in the betting but by no means out of it. He was third to Melton Mossy here last time but is weighted to get a lot closer and if Mossy isn’t in the mood at the start could easily still land the prize for the Ditcheat team.
A HARDY NAP
⭕ 3.35 Taunton Hardy Buck is a winner without a penalty here as he escapes a 7lb hike for his win in a conditional/amateur riders race at Exeter last week. He scored with plenty of ease – seven lengths officially but it could easily have been a wider margin.
He was having his first start for trainer Max Comley and he looks well handicapped.
Square Do Roule is another last time out Exeter winner who is an obvious danger. Harry Cobden gave him a great ride to win cosily and he had plenty in hand at the finish. It didn’t fool the handicapper though who has shoved him up 6lb.
CHAMPAGNE LOOKS FLAT
⭕ 7.30 Chelmsford Champagne Powder could well go off odds on here but with form figures of 43-27463 I’m not particularly interested in the former French trained runner.
I’ll take a chance with Rastnet who has shown promise in two starts at Kempton and had no chance against the long odds on Hard Endeavor last time but stayed on well to take the silver medal.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
