MORE GOLD FOR DON DAQMAN: Daqman went for gold yesterday, with a 30-point banker on Don Poli (WON 4-6), winner of the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown, giving him a 3-0 victory over Pricewise at the end of the Christmas period. It took his profit in Pricewise races to 105 points, 550 clear of his arch-rival.

25 WINNING NAPS THIS SEASON: It was Daqman’s 25th winning nap since the start of the jumps on November 8 and his score over Pricewise in that time is 17-4 (overall 263-99). He’s had the last six naps up out of nine for a profit of 409 points for the season.

IT’S BETDAQ DAY AT DONCASTER: Today is BETDAQ day at Doncaster, seven sponsored races of 66 declared runners, with an early start at 12 noon, and featuring a Listed mares chase (2.20), which marks the cut in commission you can earn if you make a bigger offer on your pick for any race in the BETDAQ orange.

FILLEULE CAN COME BACK TO FORM IN FEATURE

2.20 Doncaster (Betdaq.com 2% Commission Mares Chase) Another strong renewal of this Listed Mares Chase. The second and third from last year’s running return again, Emily Gray and Pepite Rose. The race also features the very classy Ma Filleule.

Kalane heads the market for Charlie Longsdon and she is one that certainly looks to be more at home over the larger obstacles. A 31 length début win over fences marked her arrival and she is sure to produce a stern test. However, this is a marked step up in class from that first run and there are some battle hardened campaigners in this so I feel that the experience may just tell with her.

Both Emily Gray and Pepite Rose have similar chances to what they had this time last year and should both run their races but, at the weights, the places are the best either can hope for.

The solid option in the race is Ma Filleule, despite her recent runs. She has run in all the best races over the years and has some really good wins to her name. She’s very well in at the weights if she can rediscover her best form. Her two runs over hurdles this season can be discounted as she is a much better chaser and Nicky Henderson indicated this morning that she may be aimed at the Topham once again having been dropped a few pounds by the handicapper. It could be tough to give her weight in this one.

I wouldn’t be doing the name of this race justice without advising to make an offer. I’m going to suggest asking for 3.55 on Ma Filleule (3.75 to Lay at time of writing). If we’re matched, we’ll avail of the lower 2% Commission on our winnings.

GO LONG IS THE NAP IN THE SECOND

12.00 Doncaster (Betdaq.com/Thoroughbred Breeders Association Mares Handicap Hurdle) This is not a very strong race. It looks to me to be between Catherine’s Well and Donna’s Pride.

Catherine’s Well could be tough to beat but I’m going to take a chance with Donna’s Pride. On the back of her third last time out in a decent enough race at Musselburgh, she could improve as that was her first run since April. Small stakes are advised.

12.35 Doncaster (Betdaq.com 50% Commission Refund National Hunt Novice’s Hurdle) I find it hard to look beyond Go Long in this one.

He defeated the very capable Charbel at Doncaster at the end of November and did it in good style. Charbel (rated 137) then went on to finish second behind Yanworth in a Grade 2. It’s likely that Go Long will receive a fairly generous rating for that win and I can’t see many in this one matching it. He’s the Nap today.

RED DEVIL TO TAKE BETDAQ RACES HAT-TRICK

1.10 Doncaster (Betdaq.com £25 Free Bet Novice’s Limited Handicap Chase) This should be a competitive race. Four of the six runners stand out.

Baltimore Rock was the highest rated of these over Hurdles. There is every chance he could transfer that form to Chasing but there will probably be slightly easier options for him in the future.

The Grey Taylor won at his second time of asking over fences and he has a big chance here. The form of the Carlisle race isn’t the strongest however, so I would have reservations about him.

Long Lunch was well beaten by Antony who was then unable to confirm his form in a good race on Boxing Day. While he’s a reliable sort, he may just be slightly out of depth here.

Katachenko is the one I really like. He beat Mon Successeur on his fencing début this season. That one went on to another win subsequently in a better race. Of the field, Katachenko looks the best handicapped of them all. Again, we’ll ask for a little more than the 4.6 on offer to get the lower Commission rate and go to 4.7 for the win.

1.45 Doncaster (Download the BETDAQ App Handicap Hurdle) Again, another decent race. There are several of the 11 runners with live chances.

I’m siding with Red Devil Boys, who’s last two wins have come in BEDTAQ races at Doncaster. He’s got four wins at the track and although he’s not the easiest of rides, he’s got plenty of ability. He’s tried three miles once before but found nothing when asked. He looks to be doing a little more this season with the cheekpieces working better for him. I think he’ll get the trip and, with his ability, he could be hard to beat.

2.55 Doncaster (Cash Out on BETDAQ Fillies Juvenile Maiden Hurdle) This is not a race to have a bet in. Live Miracle has been withdrawn and leaves a relatively easy task for Pemba. At 1.17 on the BETDAQ orange, I’m not getting involved.

3.25 Doncaster (BETDAQ – Serious About Sport Handicap Chase) A good race to finish the BETDAQ sponsorship at Doncaster for 2015. Two selections stand out for me.

It’s difficult to see beyond Wild Bill. He won very impressively over course and distance last time. He cantered down to the last with Paul Moloney pulling double before stretching clear. That day he looked well handicapped off 116. Today, he still looks well handicapped off 124.

Godsmejudge is taking on his weakest race for quite some time. It’s also his first time running off a mark below 130 since 2013. The former Scottish National winner hasn’t been troubling the judge recently but he’s been running in some of the biggest Handicap Chases in the calendar. As an Each Way bet, he looks good value for a small stake.
