FINAL CHECK AS THE ROYAL ASCOT LOSERS PILE UP: Daqman usually finds the winners but he’s also found a ready-parcelled package of losers, including some short-priced shots worth laying, in his survey of past results at Royal Ascot. Here’s his final check on the outcome but look out for more Daqman research that helps your betting.

DAQMAN’S LATE STRIKE: Daqman managed one winner from his three selections on Monday with KAYFAST WARRIOR winning the final race at Wolverhampton at 5/4. Supporters never had an anxious moment with him being kicked clear off the home turn and winning by an eased down five and a half lengths.

ASCOT: THE PATTERN IS REPEATED

The Hardwicke was super hot. But for that race, you would be looking at the dismal return of 1-15 (yes, just one winner from 15 starters) for placed horses from Royal Ascot last month.

That’s using the worst-case scenario from Daqman’s list on Tuesday, June 22 (Forget The Ascot Placed Horses) which showed a dozen races at the 2020 meeting that produced only SIX winners from the 162 races they’ve run in since.

The pattern is repeating itself in 2021. Horses from the royal meeting this year that ran second or third at Ascot last month include this string of 14 losers.

But the Hardwicke Stakes result, in which Broome and Hukum followed Wonderful Tonight home, is absolutely rock solid; even the horse in seventh place, Sir Ron Priestley, had a famous victory over Al Aasy at the July Meeting.

HOPES HANG WITH PEG

⭕ 2.05 Bath Plenty of rain fell on Friday which has led to varying conditions across the country. Bath escaped much of the rain that saw flooding in London Underground stations.

Peggoty looks the BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE nap of the day in the 2.05 at Bath – a fillies maiden over the minimum trip.

Oisin Murphy teams up on the Ed Walker trained runner who improved on her Salisbury debut to finish second at Newbury last time out. She chased home the favourite Nazanin over six furlongs and maybe suited by the drop back in trip here. As always, Newbury form generally works out well at this level.

The danger looks more likely to come from Me Next rather than Pure Charmer who already looks thoroughly exposed having run six times and now the blinkers go on.

Me Next showed enough on her debut at York to indicate she has a future. Although only eighth she was only beaten four and a half lengths and is another one stepping back in trip today.

THUNDER TO STRIKE

⭕ 4.40 Bath The course may have escaped the rain but not the thunder as Thunder Flash looks the answer to the finale over 1m 6f.

The Ian Williams trained runner is trying out this trip for the first time – presumably on the back of a big run at Leicester last time out when third to Glencora over 1m 4f. He was staying on well in the closing stages and might be seen to better effect here off the same handicap mark.

Ruskin Red looks the obvious danger having bounced back to form with a good effort at Kempton last time out.

NO DOUBTING THOMAS

⭕ 8.35 Brighton Another course to escape the worst of the weather and the fast conditions should suit the David Simcock trained Thomas Lanfiere.

He was chasing a hat-trick before finish fifth at Yarmouth last time out but it was still a good effort and he is worth another chance in this company at a course where he won over this trip two starts ago.

There are already three non runners and much of the opposition look woefully out of form.
