EIGHT WINNING DAQMAN DAYS OUT OF NINE: Daqman returned to profit yesterday, making it eight winning days out of nine and five winning naps out of eight with Altalune (WON evens) at Catterick. Today DAQMAN spots a filly who sports an entry at York tomorrow – but she also runs today at Beverley and will find life a lot easier than at Ascot last time out.

YORK PREVIEW: FOLLOW THE WINNING TEAM: Who’s top trainer and who top jockey in today’s Daqman survey of the races you’ll see in the made-up York cards for Wednesday to Saturday. Top tipster is Daqman, who will be looking for value, 28-13 ahead of Pricewise of the Racing Post.

HAGGAS IS THE KING OF YORK

Home from home. Yorkshire-born William Haggas is top trainer in the decade for the crack compilation of races you’ll see at the five-day York meeting, starting tomorrow.

Haggas, on 60 winners in the current turf season, is one behind John Gosden but is well clear of his arch-rival for races in the York programme.

And, with 30, he has three times the number of Gosden entries for this week’s Knavesmire festival that will be like no other.

The five days of York are made up of races lost and found from the truncated season since the traditional May meeting.

Daqman has pieced their past results together over the last 10 years in order to reckon the top trainers and jockeys overall for those races that make up the new programme.

Trainers William Haggas 20, John Gosden 13, Kevin Ryan 12, Richard Hannon 10, David O’Meara 10, Richard Fahey 9, Charlie Appleby 8, Sir Michael Stoute 8, Andrew Balding 7, Aidan O’Brien 7, Charles Hills 6, Mark Johnston 5, Tom Dascombe 4, Michael Dods 4, Tim Easterby 4, Dermot Weld 4, Michael Bell 3, Karl Burke 3, Brian Ellison 3, Tony Martin 3, Hugo Palmer 3, John Quinn 3, Roger Varian 3.

Jockeys James Doyle 13, Jamie Spencer 12, William Buick 11, Daniel Tudhope 9, Jim Crowley 8, Paul Hanagan 8, Ryan Moore 8, Oison Murphy 8, Andrea Atzeni 5, Philip Makin 5, Richard Kingscote 4, Silvestre De Sousa 4, David Allan 3, Harry Bentley 3, Ben Curtis 3, Tom Queally 3, Robert Winston 3.

PRINCESS LOOKS A ROYAL BET

⭕ 2.00 Beverley Princess Power should find this company a lot easier than what she faced at Ascot last time out when a really creditable runner-up to Blue De Vega. She wasn’t without support in the market that day and although technically the same class 4 as today’s race – there’s often a gulf of difference between an Ascot Class 4 and Beverley.

Her trainer Nigel Tinkler has had a couple of winners in the last fortnight and Princess Power has a good course record here with a win and runner-up from two previous starts.

It’s also interesting to note that Princess Power holds an entry for the class 2 fillies sprint handicap at York tomorrow. She’s still a runner at this stage but whether she takes than engagement up or not – it’s clearly of note that connections are keen to get a run into her. A real statement of intent.

To complicate matters slightly Tinkler also has two other runners here. Tenax who looks firmly in the grip of the handicapper and his only previous win for the stable has come over six furlongs.

Tinkler also runs the rank outsider He’Zanarab – off the course for 333 days and has moved from the Jim Goldie yard in the interim.

EXPECT MORE FROM LIS

⭕ 5.05 Beverley Lismore looks another Sir Mark Prescott project horse. She bids for a hat-trick here having scored at Chepstow (two miles) and Bath (1m 6f) last time out.

She looks an out and out stayer so it’s no surprise to see Sir Mark push her back up to the two mile trip. She’s up another 6lb but that’s unlikely to halt her progress in a race where there are quite a few suspect stayers.

Current second favourite Brasingamanbellamy is up 5lb for finishing second on handicap debut at Hamilton – the maths of that makes Lismore’s extra weight look almost lenient.

The other issue with Brasingamanbellamy is that he is yet to race over 1m 4f and there weren’t obvious signals at Hamilton that this move would bring about a first win.

A bigger danger may come from the David Simcock trained Deposit who stayed on in sterling fashion when winning over 1m 6f at Bath last time out.

ARK AGAIN…

⭕ 8.30 Kempton A very modest nine race card at Kempton tonight where the bar doesn’t raise higher than class 4 level and there are a couple of odds-on chances – neither of which make much betting appeal.

I’m keeping my powder dry to the last race where Ravens Ark might be able to follow up his Lingfield win off a 4lb higher mark.

He beat Derry Boy who has won since and Ravens Ark remains progressive having only had four starts.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro.. Or just 10p to win!

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
