DAQMAN CURRENCY IS WINNERS: Daqman loves the BETDAQ meetings. He tipped two winners among five races BETDAQ sponsored for a successful day at Kempton yesterday, including his nap, Premier Currency (WON 11-8), Khusoosy (WON 6-4) taking him into plus for the day.

THE BIG-TWO BATTLE AT YORK: Today Daqman provides a head-to-head form profile for tomorrow’s International Stakes clash of Gleneagles and Golden Horn. He hints at his verdict between them but he won’t announce his selection until the day, depending on the going and the BETDAQ offers.

THE PATHS OF (INTERNATIONAL) GLORY..

3.40 York, Wednesday (International Stakes) This is not an international affair, with no winners outside Europe in its 43 years.

But it caught international attention when Frankel won it in 2012 and should get world-racing news coverage tomorrow for its rare match of champions:

GLENEAGLES (A. O’ O’Brien, 3-8-12 by Galileo)
versus
GOLDEN HORN (J Gosden, 3-8-12 by Cape Cross)

GLENEAGLES: Unbeaten in eight races since his debut, barring disqualification in the Grand Criterium at Longchamp in October.

The 1m 2f of the York race is unknown territory. Brother to 1,000 Guineas winner Marvellous, he’s been kept to a mile, but his dam was sister to Giants Causeway, who won this very International, plus the Eclipse and Irish Champion Stakes, all at 1m 2f.

Gleneagles would be winner number six in the race for Aidan O’Brien, who is on a hat-trick after Declaration of War and, last year, Australia.

* National Stakes: This gave Gleneagles four in a row in September and flagged him up as a Guineas horse, confirmed by the Grand Criterium at Longchamp, which he lost in the Stewards’ room.

* Newmarket 2,000 Guineas: He beat Territories and Ivawood, at Newmarket, colts that would do the form no harm but would not raise its level. However, it was the manner of Gleaneagles’ smooth success that was the talking point.

* Irish 2,000 Guineas: Once more, those he defeated, including Ivawood again, were no world-beaters but Gleneagles was brilliant, striding clear like the class act he is.

* St James’s Palace Stakes: We learned nothing new from this small-field victory, with the French Guineas winner, Make Believe, running no sort of race and tailing off last.

That was a pity because Make Believe had beaten New Bay, who defeated Secretariat Stakes hero Highland Reel in the French Derby.

GOLDEN HORN: Unbeaten in five starts, but not seen until last October and started the year with a 90 rating, 10lb behind his stablemate, Gm Hopkins, who would win a Royal Hunt Cup.

But Golden Horn improved 40lb in only four starts, part of a sensational year for John Gosden, who also won the Irish Derby, Musidora, Prix de Diane and July Stakes outside the following triumphs by Golden Horn:

* Dante Stakes: The winter Derby favourites, Elm Park (third) and John F Kennedy (last), were virtually left standing, as Golden Horn showed a scintillating finish to run down his less-mature stablemate Jack Hobbs, who would rubberstamp the form by making a procession of the Irish Derby.

* Epsom Derby: Golden Horn widened the gap over Jack Hobbs, again quickening up and going clear of his field.

* Eclipse Stakes: The first Derby winner since Sea The Stars to follow up in this race, forced to make his own pace and so pressed by The Grey Gatsby that he was exchanged at 2.6 in running in the straight.

But Golden Horn smoothly changed gear and had The Grey Gatsby in trouble under a daring and confident Dettori who, like the colt underneath, was at the top of his form.

The clock in Frankie’s head got it right and, at the moment of truth, this imperious colt went away as an eased-down rival conceded defeat.

KAZZIANA STARS ON ANOTHER BETDAQ DAY

2.15 Kempton (Betdaq.com £20 Free Bet Handicap) An interesting race to start the day.  Despite the small field, there is really one to be discounted, although there are some question marks over some.

Mutamid is the market leader following a good win last time at Wolverhampton. He looks a very solid option and it is likely that Kempton should suit slightly better than Wolverhampton. He has appeared to take a little time to get into full gear however, and that may go against him.

Sands Chorus won a similar event over slightly further, also at Wolverhampton, last time and he did it from the front. It was a good ride by Tom Eaves and something similar could clinch this one for him. He stays well and with a strong gallop, he could prove hard to pass.

2.45 Kempton (Cash Out on the BETDAQ App Maiden Fillies Stakes) Kazziana stands out a mile in this one. The daughter of the Guineas and Oaks winner Kazzia didn’t get off to the start that would have been expected by one regally bred as her when third at Nottingham.

In saying that, she’s undoubtedly open to an endless amount of improvement and it’s difficult to see any of the other horses with form being able to match her ability here.

3.45 Kempton (Download Free Trading Software on Betdaqtraders.com Nursery Handicap) Another short priced runner for Godolphin with Hawkbill who beat two subsequent winners last time out at Lingfield.

He battled very hard to win that race and the second horse, Lazzam, went on to an easy success at Chelmsford next time.

This very much looks like being a two horse race with Powderhorn being a massive danger to the jolly.

The Mark Johnston horse got an enterprising ride from Adam Kirby last time when winning in Lingfield and he did it in really good style. It’s likely that he’s going to get his own way again today and if he can dictate thing as he did the last, he’s got a great chance of taking a big scalp.

In addition, a form line through a beaten runner when Powderhorn finished third at Chelmsford, puts him a pound better at the weights with Hawkbill.

4.15 Kempton (BETDAQ – We’re Serious About Horses Handicap) This is a really competitive race with one very interesting runner from the Hannon stable.

Exchequer has some very good form and in his last run at Doncaster, he finished ahead of Major Crispies who went on to finish 3rd behind Salateen in very good handicap at York in July.

He shapes like a horse that could potentially get to a handicap mark in the high 90’s and today should be a step in that direction for the son of Exceed and Excel.

There are several queuing up behind him however with the likes of Ian’s Memory and Mulzamm having shown some decent form. Windy Citi may be the one to chase him home and he’s a nice price as well.

4.45 Kempton (BETDAQ 50% Commission Refund Fillies Handicap) This seems very one sided. Melodica should be more than capable of getting off the mark at the sixth time of asking.

She was placed behind Sands Chorus last time in Wolverhampton when getting badly hampered on the bend. It’s likely that she wouldn’t have troubled the winner but would surely have finished a little closer.

I can’t see any of her any of her seven rivals being able to beat her.
