DAQMAN: ONE 7.2 WINNER, NO LOSERS: Leave it to the boss! Daqman, of course. He’s had tasty winners three days running between 3-1 and 4-1 and, as the boss instructed yesterday, you could have been on at BETDAQ 7.2 about his Monday value. His two other bets were non-runners, so it was a case of Ey Up! It’s 100%. Profit on the day 20 points.

DID YOU think the Aussie mare Asfoora was ever going to get past Big Evs at Goodwood? Both could now run in the Nunthorpe, or Asfoora might have a break and wait for the Flying Five at the Curragh. We’ll keep them both on side until plans are clearer.
Another sprinting find: we await a decision on whether James’s Delight will run in Saturday’s Phoenix at the Curragh or whether he, too, will stay on a break until the Haydock Sprint.
A Gimcrack winner with 10-12f Pattern winners in his pedigree! That’s Lake Forest, who could bypass the Phoenix Sprint and step up to 7f in the City Of York Stakes.
Only a length down to Porta Fortuna at Royal Ascot, Opera Singer now has York late this month or Lepardstown in September in a quartet of possible dates.
But, as only Daqman warned before she won the Nassau Stakes, Ryan Moore has always marked her down for the Arc! Watch this space.

SET FOR A CLEAR RUN
⭕ 4.50 Ffos Las Dashinwhitesargent was doubly entered today – not something you see too much of these days and it is interesting to see Hughie Morrison select this race for him instead of the engagement at Chelmsford in the 6.17 where my Tuesday nap runs (see below).
This looks easier with the defection of four-timer seeker Salamanca Lad (it’s a game of musical chairs with the non runners today) but Dashinwhitesargent is unproven on the likely soft ground and the stable are not exactly flying at present.
Preference is for the Ed Dunlop trained Run For The Sun who made a pleasing seasonal reappearance at Doncaster (on soft ground) when third and is likely to improve on that first outing for 255 days.
She is preferred to Arkhalia Flynn who is also proven on the ground but is running off the same mark as when third at Yarmouth last time out – so I’m struggling to see where the improvement will come from.
MUJID TO ROLL BACK THE YEARS
⭕ 5.20 Ffos Las Mujid is now nine-years-old and has to give weight away to some younger rivals but he still arrives here as the horse in best current form and is taken to follow up on his course and distance success of 2022 when he romped home by 15 lengths – how often do you see that winning margin in a flat handicap?!
He was ridden that day by Taylor Fisher who is on again today – the soft ground is a concern, although he did win on good to soft here two starts ago and if you go back far enough he does have bits and pieces of form on more testing ground. It’s just he has predominantly run on quicker ground.
In any event the same going question marks apply to market leader Elforleather.
PASSIONATE ABOUT THE NAP
⭕ 6.17 Chelmsford It’s impossible to gauge how far ahead of the handicapper Heat Of Passion is – but it’s a fair bet to say much more than the 6lb penalty she has to carry tonight for her ludicrously easy win at Southwell.
Sir Mark Prescott wouldn’t have been thrilled by the near five length winning margin but it could have been double that as Luke Morris had an armchair ride on the three-year-old who never saw another rival in the race.
It’s no surprise to see the stable running her again so quickly and even though this looks a more competitive race she is hard to oppose on handicapping grounds alone.
The Godolphin runner Historic City makes the Betdaq Betting Exchange market for us. He wasn’t beaten far on his handicap debut at Wolverhampton but will need to improve at this level.
A bigger danger may come from the David Menuisier trained Ashariba given the stable are in good form. His filly here is having her first taste of the all-weather but is 2-5 on the turf and brings experience to the table.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
