DAQMAN LANDS NAP NUMBER 74: An intercessor is someone who does you a favour. And your regular intercessor, Daqman, was on the mark again at Brighton yesterday with nap number 74 this year:

WON 5-4 INTERCESSOR

THE TOP TEN FORTUNE COOKIES: Daqman’s Fortune Cookies have done us 21 favours this Flat season alone, and today he gives you his Top Ten for the autumn big races he marks.

LOOK FOR THE RETURN OF KYPRIOS

FORTUNE COOKIES have lost Little Big Bear (retired) and Soul Sister (on holiday until next season) and such as Auguste Rodin and Paddington have done their job.

We have the impending return of Kyprios and Mawj plus our BETDAQ ante-post bets on Ace Impact (win-50 at 5.5) and Blue Rose Cen (15.0 to win 100) in the Arc de Triomphe, while Tower Of London is the Doncaster St Leger outsider (26.0).

Tower Of London has other opportunities and Gregory is retained for the St Leger as well, despite his defeat in the Great Voltigeur when Frankie Dettori set him alight after a slow start.

FORTUNE COOKIES have landed 21 strikes so far this Flat season:

WON 11-8 Emily Dickinson, WON 5-6 Adayar, WON 3-5 Blue Rose Cen, WON 7-2 Chaldean, WON evens Little Big Bear, WON 2-5 Tahiyra, WON 11-4 Soul Sister, WON 9-2 Auguste Rodin, WON 16-5 Blue Rose Cen, WON 11-5 Paddington, WON 8-13 Tahiyra, WON 4-11 Auguste Rodin, WON 8-11 Paddington, WON 5-1 Perotto, WON 11-10 Nostrum, WON 10-11 Savethelastdance, WON 1-1 Elite Status (first 2yo runner), WON 10-11 Kinross, WON 4-9 Paddington, WON 2-5 Ace Impact, WON 9-4 Kinross.

VINO HAS ALL THE TRIX

⭕ 3.20 Goodwood Vino Victrix is a speculative play in this two mile class 2 handicap in the hope that the return to quicker ground will see him bounce back to the kind of form he showed when runner-up in last year’s Cesarewitch.

He’s on a 2lb lower mark now, has the considerable assistance of Billy Loughnane for the first time and the Hughie Morrison yard are in good form with three winners from their last 15 runners including their last two.

The downside is that Vino Victrix has been woefully out of form this season with three wide margin defeats but they all came on soft ground and if backing him today you have to subscribe to the belief that he’s a much better horse on quicker ground.

The one all-weather run he had in the Northumberland Plate wasn’t too bad despite his 9th place – he was beaten less than five lengths suggesting the talent is still there and it’s not a case of him falling out of love with the game.

The race is competitive as you would expect. Novel Legend heads the morning Betdaq Betting Exchange market but is heading up in the weights despite not winning and the consistent Grand Providence is up in class and distance since her respectable second here last time out.

WINNING THE BLUES

⭕ 5.05 Goodwood I’m sticking with Billy Loughnane here – this time with Mister Bluebird who bounced back from being outclassed at Ascot to run a much better race at Newmarket last time out when third to Silver Samurai over six furlongs.

‘Bluebird’ is a seven furlong winner here which proves he handles the tricky course but judged on the latest effort a crack at the shorter trip looks a good move by trainer Heather Main.

Cairn Gorm brings the best recent form into the race having won at York last time out and he should go well despite being hiked 4lb ahead of his first trip to Goodwood.

IZZY READY TO LAND NAP

⭕ 7.45 Hamilton Giselles Izzy is still on a favourable mark and continuing to run well since her course and distance win in June. This race won’t take much winning and she looks the nap selection by default.

Three non runners, at the time of writing, make life easier for her and main danger on the market Elladora bumper her head leaving the stalls last time out so might not be so keen on the infrastructure tonight.

Burtonlodge Beauty looked a little overpriced so will make her my third WIN 20 stake of the day.

The plan is the NAP covers the three bets – stakes wise.

DAQMAN’S BETS:

3.20 Goodwood (win 20)
BET 3.3pts win VINO VICTRIX

5.05 Goodwood (win 20)
BET 3.9pts win MISTER BLUEBIRD

7.45 Hamilton (win 10 nap and win 20)
BET 7.7pts win GISELLES IZZY (nap)
BET 1pts win BURTONLODGE BEAUTY

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.

Did you know? DAQMAN’s tips are posted each and every day so he’s always on hand to help with your horse racing betting.
