TIME TO COLLECT
⭕ 2.15 Huntingdon In a week where the jumps season ramps up with Chepstow on Saturday there looks to be a nap on the Huntingdon card in the shape of Collectors Item.
Trained by Jonjo O’Neill, the five-year-old tackles hurdles for the first time having run two huge races and should prove too strong for his rivals here. After a winning Irish point debut at Kildorrey he ran well at Newbury on his UK debut when chasing home Weveallbeencaught in a Newbury bumper back in March.
Unusually, none of the placed horses from that race have been out again since but Newbury bumper form is usually solid and the winner that day looks a nice prospect having also won an Irish point.
Stable form is an important consideration at this stage of the season and the O’Neil yard have scored with two of their last five runners – both sent off favourite as Collectors Items is set to this afternoon on the Betdaq Betting Exchange.
Rock Legend has a penalty for winning a weak three runner race at Newcastle and he was disappointing when last seen out at Uttoxeter.
The danger looks to be Great Heart’Jac on his best form. His latest efforts have been disappointing but they were in much stronger races and these are calmer waters.
JUST FINE FOR A ROYAL FIRST
⭕ 3.10 Leicester Just Fine has the chance to become the first winner for The King in the Royal silks. A drop in the weights and the class ladder might be enough.
Regular pilot Ryan Moore is in the saddle again and the four-year-old is dropped to class three level for the first time in over a year. The last time he ran at class three he was a ready winner at Sandown off a mark just 2lb lower than today.
Despite a disappointing run at Newbury last time out, Sea The Casper remains progressive and looks a danger whilst Mr Professor could run well at bigger odds having come to form at this stage of the year 12 months ago when winning a Listed race at Pontefract.
A LITTLE BIRD TELLS ME
⭕ 8.00 Southwell The best race on the Southwell card tonight presents an opportunity for Tequilamockingbird to add to her Lingfield and Kempton wins this year.
She proved she goes well here too with a solid second last month behind Haunted Dream and can go close again, despite the pound rise in the weights.
Standing in the way are Sir Mark Prescott and Luke Morris who aren’t in bad form themselves! They team up with Omniscient who is quite hard to quantify. He hasn’t shown his best form on the all-weather so far and was disappointing at Goodwood last time out having previously won well at Yarmouth. He was said to have run too freely at Goodwood but there has been no headgear applied today.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
