GUIDE TO THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP: Here’s Daqman’s horse-by-horse guide to Sunday’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe championship of Europe, staged this year at Chantilly. The key reveals major bias from the stats concerning age, ability, rating and recent form.

LINGFIELD TRIO: Back on the all-weather at Lingfield DAQMAN has a trio of Tuesday bets at the Surrey venue.

CAPRI TOPS THE ‘ARC’ ABC CHECK

3.05 Chantilly, Sunday (Prix de l’Arc de Trxiomphe)

A All winners aged three or four
B Won a European Derby or Oaks (12/13)
C Rated 123 at least (12/13)
D Ran in September (11/12)
E Winner trained Fabre, Gosden, Laffon-Parias, O’Brien, Royer-Dupre, Stoute.

The BETDAQ 24.0 available on BETDAQ this morning about Irish Derby winner Capri is looking good for Sunday’s Arc after he made the declarations and prompted offers of only 8-1 and 10-1 in places with some bookmakers. This column is already on with stakes to win 100 points.

ABCDE Capri

Beresford Stakes winning two-year-old, only sixth in the Epsom Derby but up 10lb since after back-to-back success in the Irish Derby and the English St Leger

ABCE Enable

Sensational six wins out of seven, including four consecutive Oaks and runaway success over Ulysses, Idaho and Highland Reel in the King George at Ascot.

ABC Brametot

French 2,000 Guineas and Derby double with ‘unbelievable’ turn of foot (says trainer Rouget) but missed the break and unable to catch Eminent last time.

ABDE Seventh Heaven

Won the 2016 Irish Oaks and Yorkshire Oaks (beating Found) but has had a quiet 2017, prepping for this recently at the Curragh. Could bounce back.

ACE Ulysses

Typical Stoute late developer up 29lb since last July. Shot to fame in the Eclipse and won York International but King George second, adrift of Enable, in between.

ADE Cliffs Of Moher

Mugged by a late finisher in the Epsom Derby and twice well held by Ulysses since. Not get a clear run in the Irish Champion Stakes on the last day.

ADE Cloth Of Stars

Eighth 2016 Epsom Derby, pipped Zarak in the Ganay this Spring but well held by Dischingis Secret in the Prix Foy trial for the Arc in September

ADE Plumatic

Lightly raced, better effort in a Group 3 on the last day after last of 12 to Brametot in the French Derby.

ADE Winter

English and Irish 1,000 Guineas winner, taking Coronation and Nassau Stakes before pipped after a break at Leopardstown. Has never tried a trip beyond 1m 2f.

AD Dschingis Secret

Talk of another Danedream (Germany’s 2011 winner of the Arc) after hat-trick – beating Iquitos at Hamburg – culminating in easy Prix Foy trial win.

AD Satono Diamond

Four in a row including Japanese St Leger and defeat in Prix Foy Arc trial probably down to the soft ground,. Not to be overlooked.

AE Doha Dream

Group-2 winner at the Arc meeting a year ago but beaten twice at that level this season including last of five behind Silverware.

AE Idaho

Placed in both English and Irish Derby last season but winning form only at Group-2 level this term and more than five lengths off Enable in the King George.

AE Zarak

French Derby runner-up last season pipped by Cloth Of Stars in the Ganay this Spring but edged out Silverware for Grand Prix de Saint Cloud. Not seen since.

CE Highland Reel

Tenacious 2016 King George hero has won three more Group-1 events since including at Epsom and Royal Ascot but well adrift in King George renewal.

DE One Foot In Heaven

Sixth in last year’s Arc but behind Cloth Of Stars and Seventh Heaven in placed efforts this season DOUBTFUL RUNNER

DE Order Of St George

2016 Ascot Gold Cup winner, massive effort to regain Irish St Leger crown after winning its trial and being short-headed for Ascot gold repeat.

D Iquitos

Won a Munich Group 1 in July but well beaten by Dschingis Secret on heavy ground and second for a third time this year on the last day.

D Satono Noblesse

A long way adrift of Satano Diamond and last in the Prix Foy behind Dschingis Secret

D Silverware

Two Arc runs already, 10th and 13th, and beaten by Cloth of Stars, Zarak and Dschingis Secret this summer.

GET A GRIP AT LINGFIELD

2.35 Lingfield Winter must be approaching – we’re back on the all-weather at Lingfield this afternoon.

In the second division of the maiden auction at 2.35pm I want to be with the Ralph Beckett trained Gripper. He took a long time for the penny to drop on debut at Wolverhampton when fourth over 7f but was only beaten a couple of lengths after staying on well. The extra trip (and further in time) will be ideal here and this is a poor contest, especially so given that Champs De Reves is now a non runner.

Biggest danger may come from the Charles Hills trained Gossip Column who has been mixing it at a higher level but who has been soundly beaten in his last two starts and has no all-weather experience, nor will he necessarily be suited by the step up in trip.

Montague looks best of the rest but again has no experience over either the trip or on the all-weather surface.

5.15 Lingfield A wide open handicap over the minimum trip but I quite like the feather-weight here Fleeting Glimpse.

She proved that her current mark of just 54 is a level which she can be very competitive at by finishing second to Evening Starlight at Bath last time out.

There’s a big ‘if’ in that she can be moody at the start but even if pinging away averagely can give us a good spin at around 9.6 on BETDAQ at the time of writing. She certainly has every chance of reversing form with Evening Starlight who beat her at Bath and is now 6lb worse off for just a half length.

5.45 Lingfield Another wide open handicap but the market has been a good guide over the last three years.

Scoones will have plenty of supporters after a good fourth on handicap debut at Kempton. The James Fanshawe trained runner should relish the extra trip and is the one of the very few in this that you could expect to make big improvement.

DAQMAN’S BETS (Staked to win 20 points)
BET 7.0pts win (nap) GRIPPER (2.35 Lingfield)
BET 2.3pts win and place FLEETING GLIMPSE (5.15 Lingfield)
BET 6.6pts win SCOONES (5.45 Lingfield)
