DAQMAN BANK HOLIDAY TREBLE: Daqman was determined to buy the drinks for every readers’ Bank Holiday in England yesterday and, sure enough, tipped the bottle with three winners, including the day’s nap, Lunatick (7-2), to make the score 11 winners in six days.
PLUS THREE UNLUCKY LUNATICS: It looked as if layers were the lunatics when his three outsiders for the lucky last at Epsom came to the line like winners but the trio were beaten a neck in this order: 2nd 11-1 Redredrobin, 3rd 18-1 Capote’s Dream, 4th 16-1 Giorgio.

HOW MANY MORE BEST-EVERS?
Ballydoyle best ever? While Aidan O’Brien blows the ‘best ever’ trumpet about City Of Troy, he may be lining up the best-ever crop of two-year-olds.
To get some idea of his overall power for 2025, just take a look at his entries for the Moyglare, the top Group-1 fillies stakes race at the Curragh in three weeks’ time.
BEDTIME STORY Unbeaten in four starts, climbing the ladder from maiden to Listed through Group 3 to Group 2. The only threat to the Frankel filly so far has been another Frankel emerging from her shadow, stablemate Exactly.
EXACTLY Was well beaten three and a half lengths by Bedtime Story in the Silver Flash but closed her down to half a length in the Debutante and has ‘next year’ written all over her.
FAIRY GODMOTHER Daughter of Night Of Thunder ‘very exciting’ and ‘obviously exceptional’.
Quotes that line up with his take on City Of Troy at this time last year but this is Aidan O’Brien talking about his winner of the Albany at Royal Ascot.
She beat Simmering and another Ballydoyle filly, Heavens Gate, that day. Simmering has since won the Group-2 Calvados at Deauville, with Mountain Breeze fourth.
LAKE VICTORIA 2-2 daughter of Frankel, comfortably beat Mountain Breeze in the Sweet Solera at Newmarket and is likely to be seen next in the Rockfel.
* Danger A big threat to Ballydoyle juvenile fillies has emerged with the daughter of Kodiak, Babouche (Ger Lyons), beating the O’Brien colt Whistlejacket in the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh but more about the colts tomorrow.
TAILOR MADE FOR RIPON
⭕ 5.00 Ripon A two mile handicap concludes proceedings at a track where it pays to be up with the running – no matter what the distance.
My two against the field in this stamina test are Tailorman (WIN 20 on Betdaq Betting Exchange) and Myboymax (WIN 10) who are both capable of making the running.
However top weight Tailorman lost it at the start last time out at Pontefract and in the end did well to chase down the odds-on Godsend to just a neck. The winner looked a typical handicap project for Sir Mark Prescott and was completing a hat-trick (holds an entry for the Cesarewitch around 20/1) and that form looks solid.
A better race to judge Tailorman on might be his effort at Chester in June when he led but his rider dropped the reins inside the closing stages and he was overhauled by Sea Gray. That was a decent effort and a reproduction of that effort, now two grades lower, could easily prove good enough.
I want to cover my bet with Myboymax who ended a lean spell with a win over this trip at Catterick last time out. His modus operandi is to come from behind but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a change of tactics here.
He’s made all to win before and a 3lb hike in the weights doesn’t look overly harsh in race where he just about boasts the best recent form.
KINETIC STILL HAS MOMENTUM
⭕ 5.10 Musselburgh Kinetic landed a 7/4 winning nap for the column a week ago and I’m not sure her winning run has ended.
Admittedly her task last Monday was made easier with the poor run of the well backed favourite Arch Legend but Kinetic still looks on a good mark to me – despite the 6lb penalty and it’s no surprise to see trainer James Owen striking while the iron remains hot. Owen is in pretty hot form himself too with six winners from the last 26 runners.
The reason for the penny dropping with Kinetic seems to be little more than a change of scenery – the filly has run well in all three of her starts since joining the Owen yard.
Freddy Robinson (beaten a nose last two starts), We Still Believe (seldom out of frame but also looks a tricky ride) and Spring Chorus (seems to prefer give in ground) are by no means frequent winners but are all more than capable of making their presence felt at this level.
SWEET DREAMS IN LINGFIELD FINALE
⭕ 7.38 Lingfield Just the four runners now for the finale which hasn’t been made that much easier with the defection of Notre Maison.
The Defiant returns to the all-weather after a winless run of nine on the grass. As a result his handicap mark has dropped 7lb since his neck second here in April.
More of a concern though is that, at the age of eight, his speed might be blunted against his younger rivals which include the three-year-old Chiedozie.
It might be best left to Diamond Dreamer who beat Chiedozie into second here last time on the turf over six furlongs but might be even more effective over the minimum trip on the all-weather.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
