41.0 BETDAQ PLACE BET CAME IN: Daqman was in the money in all three races of selections yesterday in England and in the early hours of this morning in Australia. He landed nap number 98 and went 62-35 up on Pricewise.

4TH 25-1 ASHRUN (w/p Melbourne Cup 41.0 ON BETDAQ)
WON 4-1 MAX MAYHEM
WON 8-15 FIVEONEFIVE (nap)

DAQMAN ABC HAD WINNER AND 4TH: Jockey Mark Zahra deserted last year’s winner, Gold Trip, amid an Aussie Press hoo-ha and easily won the Melbourne Cup this morning on Without A Fight. Willie Mullins’ Absurde was 7th, Vauban 14th. Daqman’s ABC guide had Ashrun and 7-1 Without A Fight as one-two.

TUESDAY ACTION: Daqman keeps his stakes low on Tuesday but thinks Hayley Turner might be stuck on 999 career wins – despite having a ride on a short priced favourite at Newcastle tonight.

THE QUEEN BEE

⭕ 1.12 Lingfield Fleur De Lys EBF Fillies’ Stakes (Listed Race) Double Listed action for the fillies at Lingfield this afternoon starting with this competitive event over the mile circuit.

Even the maestro that is William Haggas is struggling a little with Queen Aminatu who was prominent in the morning Betdaq Betting Exchange market. She hasn’t won in six starts since her Newcastle success in April but has generally been mixing it at a higher level and was value for much better than her official sixth finish at Ascot last time out when denied a clear run and only beaten a length and three quarters.

The switch back to the all-weather is a real positive as she seems more effective on this surface and indeed won this same race last year – with some ease too.

The stable remain in top form and she is taken to see off the challenge from Al Agaila who is up in class having won a class 3 handicap at Kempton last time out and the Sir Michael Stoute trained Potapova who won her first two races but has been generally expensive to follow since.

Zellie represents the Gosdens. She has a touch of class having won the Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac in 2021 when the ground was bottomless at Longchamp. She reappeared with a creditable run after a 202 day break but has been off the course for another 104 days. It’s hard to say what kind of form she will be in for this – especially given this is her all-weather debut.

A SAFETY BRIEFING

⭕ 1.47 Lingfield River Eden EBF Fillies’ Stakes (Listed Race) If anything this looks even more competitive.

A speculative play is Safety Catch (again for the Haggas yard who have a good record in this race).

She needs to continue her upward projection to win at this level but is definitely going the right way and really appreciated the step up in trip to win at Pontefract last time out suggesting today’s extra furlong will be well within her reach.

If you prefer the ‘form in the book’ approach then you are probably going to be taken in by Greysful Storm who ran OK when fourth of five in a Listed contest at Chester but has only won one of her 11 career starts and her first two starts on the all-weather were modest.

THE NERVOUS 999’s

⭕ 8.00 Newcastle The champagne will be on ice at the Brandling House hospitality suite of Gosforth Park tonight where Hayley Turner bids for her 1,000th winner and she has a great chance on Britannica who can make the most of her fillies allowance. She (Britannica) is no world beater but neither is chief rival Moon Flight.

However, it would be no surprise if Souffionne spoils the party. Hugo Palmer’s runner is by far the least exposed and wouldn’t have to improve much on her promising Southwell debut to take a hand. The form of that race has taken a boost with the winner and second both winning since.
