The next withdrawals will be at the five-day confirmation stage on April 8.

DAQMAN CHASES GRAND DOUBLE

WAIT FOR IT! Daqman is under orders, head down, buried in the form-books, looking for two Grand National winners within less than two weeks.

On Easter Monday (April 1), the Irish Grand National is being staged at Fairyhouse, with the Aintree Grand National the following Saturday week (April 13).

Can Daqman pull off another National double like the bookie-buster of 2016, when he followed trainer Mouse Morris to a fantastic double: 16-1 winner at Fairyhouse and 33-1 shock at Liverpool in the same year?

He’d had the Irish National winner before, notably with Davids Lad (2001 at 10-1) and Butlers Cabin (2007 at 14-1) but Rogue Angel (won 16-1) would prove to be a history-maker when Rule The World (won 33-1) went on to win at Aintree.

Rogue Angel was 21.0 on BETDAQ when he was picked in advance of his victory but Rule The World was an incredible 50.0 BETDAQ bet before Aintree 12 days later.

RAMBLER RATES A GOOD THING: The handicapper says Corach Rambler has improved a stone since fourth in his first marathon, last year’s 3m 5f Warwick Classic, prelude to his Ultima win at Cheltenham and fourth in the Newbury Gold Cup. He won the Ultima again in March after 108 days break but still gets in here off 10st 5lb.

BETDAQ RATES A GOOD THING: Daqman’s Aintree Grand National ante-post picks (2012 to 2023) reveal more than just winning bets; they show the huge value in taking early offers and prices on BETDAQ.

WON 8-1 CORACH RAMBLER 2023 (11.5 on BETDAQ)
4th 10-1 NOBLE YEATS 2023 (18.5 on BETDAQ)
3rd 15-2 ANY SECOND NOW 2021 (50.0 on BETDAQ)
3rd 8-1 RATHVINDEN 2019 (15.0 on BETDAQ)
WON 10-1 TIGER ROLL 2018 (17.0 on BETDAQ)
2nd 16-1 CAUSE OF CAUSES 2017 (34.0 on BETDAQ)
WON 33-1 RULE THE WORLD 2016 (50.0 on BETDAQ)
2nd 14-1 BALTHAZAR KING 2014 (39.0 on BETDAQ)
3rd 8-1 SEABASS 2012 (60.0 on BETDAQ)

POLI HAS PARROT FASHION

⭕ 2.35 Newcastle Polisud’s love affair with Newcastle can continue as the ex-French runner has really taken a shine to Gosforth Park for new handler Micky Hammond.

After a promising third last month (his first start since wind surgery) he followed up with a course and distance win earlier this month when he beat Call Me Jack who has won since.

He’s up another 7lb but that might not stop him in this company and he goes well for pilot Emma Smith-Chaston.

I’m not than keen on main Betdaq Betting Exchange rival Celestial Fashion who remains a maiden after 15 starts. The mare has been pulled up on her two previous visits here.

Confidence in the others is not high either ….

Into The Sunset’s good form comes on better ground, Not Now Tayto hasn’t shown much over hurdles so far (100/1 and 150/1 in last two starts) and will need to improve for first time in handicap company.

Milan Echo showed his best form yet on first start for Danny Brooke at Sedgefield last time out and the outsider of the party might end up being the biggest danger to Tuesday’s selection and nap.

WARRIOR INTO BATTLE

⭕ 4.20 Taunton This class 3 handicap hurdle has a more open look to it with the defection of hat-trick seeking Hara Kiri.

Toonagh Warrior is taken to continue the good recent run of trainer Stuart Edmunds who has sent out 5 winners from his last 14 runners.

Toonagh Warrior has generally been mixing it at a higher level so should appreciate the drop in class. His last three races have been at Ascot (2nd), Sandown (6th) and Newbury (4th) and the form is solid – bolstered today by a 2lb drop in the weights by the handicapper.

Celtic Art hails from another stable in cracking current form – Jeremy Scott – and he looks the danger after a good course and distance third last time out when he outran his 22/1 price tag.

DAWNED ON ME

⭕ 6.45 Southwell Not too many races appeal at Southwell tonight but I thought Dawn Of Liberation looked worthy of interest here.

The five-year-old lost his way a little when trained by Richard Hannon and was competing at a much higher level than this (class 2’s and 3’s).

He ran well on first start for Ruth Carr suggesting he has been freshened up and about to return to winning form.

DAQMAN’S BETS

2.35 Newcastle (win 10, nap)
BET 8.3pts win POLISUD

4.20 Taunton (win 10)
BET 5.0pts win TOONAGH WARRIOR

6.45 Southwell (win 10)
BET 5.05pts win DAWN OF LIBERATION

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
