DAQMAN’S HORSES-TO-FOLLOW UPDATE: Daqman’s Hot Spots, horses seen in running, look forward to their first runner this week. He also updates quality potential seen last weekend.

DAQMAN WEEKLY HOT SPOTS

KIKIJO As well as Joe Tizard, another – this time veteran – trainer from the West Country landed a weekend double.

I napped Kikijo (11-2 SP), aware of his reputation, so was delighted to see him so easy to back on Saturday, and the Philip Hobbs stable followed up with the Southern National winner at 6-1 on Sunday.

Good value, which has always been a keynote of the 70-year-old Hobbs success, could cling to Kikijo, as Press and pundit who watched Cheltenham after the rain will be inclined to dismiss some of the action as down to the surface.

L’EAU DU SUD may be snubbed as they look for a turn-around of his Cheltenham Chase win in the Tingle Creek; the more you all believe that, the better Sud’s odds will be.

NO DRAMA THIS END, impressive in the Albert Bartlett trial, keeps Paul Nicholls name high on the scoreboard.

It must have been a huge relief to get that one home, after watching his former assistant, Dan Skelton, finish 15 lengths clear of Jonbon with L’Eau Du Sud.

🔥HOTSPOT🔥 This week’s runner is THANKSFORTHEHELP (2.25 Haydock, Saturday) As I forecast last week, we can expect to see the Martaline grey wear the green and gold hoops of J P McManus in the stayers’ handicap hurdle at Haydock on Saturday.

Not punished in the Pertemps qualifier at Newbury, all depends on the shape of the Haydock race, with the same owner’s Impose Toi, also engaged.

Stressfree and Turbocharged remain on the list, and Daqman will bring you entry updates as they happen.

SKI JUMPS OUT

⭕ 3.15 Lingfield Scorpio Rising heads the Betdaq Betting Exchange market and could even go off odds on but the handicapper looks to have erred on the side of caution with a starting mark of 113. He is undoubtedly progressive and should improve further but will need to as the bare form of his Perth maiden win doesn’t really entitle him to be such a short price here.

The Alan King trained Ski Lodge has achieved more, yet races off a mark just 2lb higher. His Haydock win, nearly a year ago, looks solid enough and he might just a bit more streetwise than the favourite.

KOR THE NAP LOOKS GOOD

⭕ 7.15 Newcastle Plenty of resident course performers here with no less than five previous C&D winners.

Korroor should take a lot of beating after his course and distance win earlier this month and can continue the good form of the Julie Camacho yard who struck here yesterday with Germanic.

Rory is on a losing sequence of 21 and is now tried with the first time visor. He’s undoubtedly well treated on his best form but we’ve been saying that for a long time now!

Glendown could go well after a much better run at Redcar last time out and his one all-weather win to date came off a 10lb higher mark.

SNAP UP ALLIGATOR

⭕ 7.45 Newcastle A wide open finale over the sprint trip which might be best left to Alligator Alley whose run last time out is probably best ignored with the blindfold coming off too late at the start. In the circumstances he actually did well to be beaten three and a quarter lengths.

Blue Lakota is now up in the weights and a grade in class and might just struggle to follow up on his recent course and distance success.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
