GAMBLE LANDS THIRD NAP IN A ROW: The quality was down a shade from a weekend of Group-1 strikes but Daqman’s run continued with another profit on the day with his Monday nap, Shader (WON 4-7 from BETDAQ 2.32), impressively landing a gamble at the Kempton evening meeting. It was Daqman’s third consecutive winning nap and he bids to continue the run at Redcar today.

DO IT NOW NAP

⭕ 2.10 Redcar Do It Now is finally given a break and dropped in class and what a drop it is too.

He has been campaigned at a high level this season and was by no means disgraced when fifth (£10,303 for his effort) in a valuable class 2 sales race at Newbury but has since been found wanting at Goodwood (didn’t fire at all) and in Listed company at York last time out when he finished 9th, beaten six and a quarter lengths.

This really is a massive drop in quality – all the way down to class 5 – probably more realistic – and he should regain the winning thread. In May he was an impressive four and a half length winner at Ripon in a class 4 and it would be no surprise the front running tactics used that day will be deployed again.

Lord Roxby is second in on the Betdaq Betting Exchange market and I would agree he looks the (possibly only) danger. He improved on his Newcastle debut to scramble home at Beverley last time out and whilst the penalty will make life tougher he should be capable of further improvement.

MARMALADE TO SPREADEAGLE FIELD

⭕ 5.13 Redcar Marmalade Lady let her supporters down when favourite at Ffos Las last time out but she is given a pass for that defeat as it came on heavy ground. She actually ran well in second place but is certain to be better suited by today’s polar opposite good to firm ground – the same surface she won over at Chepstow in June.

Sandwiched (I had to get that in!) in-between was a good effort on the all-weather at Lingfield where she finished fourth to Small Fry and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd from that race have ALL won subsequently.

She looks slightly more trustworthy than Bamboo Boy who is running well enough since joining the Tracy Waggott stable but I worry that he might still have the Chester race in his legs. It was only four days since he finished fourth in heavy ground around the Roodee.

IT’S A KIND OF MAGIC

⭕ 6.30 Newcastle The market plus the weights and measures department are pointing towards Khaldiya turning around a three length defeat at Carlisle by Magic Basma now there is a 7lb swing in the weights but it might not be that simple.

Of the pair Magic Basma is likely to improve more on her second start compared with a third run for Khaldiya who for me didn’t seem to really improve much on her Yarmouth debut.

I’m tempted to stick with Magic Basma to progress and prove her 25/1 triumph was no fluke.

She can confirm the form with Khaldiya and also prove too strong for Night In Paris who was disappointing when a beaten odds on favourite at Ripon.

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
