ALL SYSTEMS GO FOR JUMPS FESTIVALS: Daqman is looking to this week’s meetings at Gowran Park, Doncaster and Cheltenham (trials day) and then the Dublin Racing Festival next week to line up his Fortune Cookies bets for the subsequent festivals at Cheltenham, Aintree and Punchestown. It’s all go!

BETDAQ THE PLACE: After his two main bets didn’t run their races, Daqman switched to the Betdaq place market on Monday to help save the day with a WIN 10 place return on Annaf (2nd 17/2) at Kempton. He keeps the stakes low again today with two bets on a modest day of sport but spots a SUPERNAP at Southwell.

TON UP FOR THE TOP HORSES

FORTUNE COOKIES are pennies short of 100 points profit from 11 winners, with the list now 16 horses. BLUE BEST OF THE BLUES

⭕ 5.00 Southwell On a day of limited opportunities, Blue Trail stands out like a (blue) flashing light for Godolphin in this novice event.

He brings some vital experience to the table in the shape of a good debut second at Newcastle to better fancied stablemate Stormy Ocean and whilst no match for that easy winner did finishing nicely clear of the third.

He was also pretty clueless at the start and should come on bundles for the experience, certainly more than enough to land a weak contest like this. It’s also interesting to note that Charlie Appleby is getting him out again quickly (by normal stable standards) just 12 days since the Newcastle race.

Fellow Godolphin owned runner Master Sergeant looks the danger – this one under the training care of John and Thady Gosden. He was sent off favourite for his racecourse debut and was in the process of running a big race before finding very little in then closing stages. The drop back in trip and benefit of the run should see a much stronger performance here.

SOLDIER TO MARCH ON

⭕ 6.00 Southwell The Mick Appleby trained Annaf did the column a favour yesterday with a place return – despite being a huge drifter before the race. The stable are struggling for winners with just 2 from their last 42 now. That’s enough to make me slightly wary about Edraak here who struggled off his new handicap mark last time out of 105.

I’m also slightly wary about the morning BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE favourite Eagleway who won here last week but it was a weaker race and he now has the extra 5lb on his back.

It might be Stone Soldier’s night. He’s been highly tried of late and was last seen in a Listed race in Sweden but on his day he would easily dismiss these and comes from a stable in good form – Archie Watson (4 winners from last 11). He also came in to his own last winter and has winning form on the Tapeta – newly installed at Southwell.

OOH, A LATE BET

⭕ 8.00 Southwell Ooh Is It completes a Southwell trio of bets on Tuesday. He does at least appear to have found the winning habit – unlike his main rival Mayelf who has a touch of seconditis.

Ooh It Is is up another 4lb but you still think with 4 wins from his last 6 – the most recent two being by small margins he could still be overall ahead of the handicapper.

DAQMAN’S BETS (staked to win 10 points, except nap staked at SP)
BET 20.0pts win (supernap) BLUE TRAIL (5.00 Southwell)
BET 2.5pts win STONE SOLDIER (6.00 Southwell)
BET 2.2pts win OOH IS IT (8.00 Southwell)

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
