DAQMAN UPS THE STAKES ON BEST BETS: So successful have been Daqman’s supernaps during the quality racing of the last week or so that his best bets will now be divided into three levels as a means to an increased staking plan, as announced below.

SOUTHWELL NAP: DAQMAN’s NAP runs in the 4.10 at Southwell. Sedgefield was called off today after a third inspection at the County Durham track.

DAQMAN’S PREMIER LEAGUE

Starting tomorrow. Look out for a new staking plan for the Daqman naps, as he hikes his best bets into a big league of winners.

He will start a Premier Nap this week. A horse considered in a league of its own. Stake 30 points.

Supernap will continue at grade-two level at 20 points win and the nap of the day, grade 3, will be 10 points win.

Racing was low key yesterday and is the same today. But the six days before that produced a series of one good-odds nap and SIX winning supernaps.

The last three winning Supernaps (* asterisked) were considered very strong indeed and would have been Premier naps had we made the choice of a higher grade in time for the Dublin Festival.

Says Daqman: ‘For the first time in this difficult season, I felt constrained by my own staking plan. It’s a good sign that we’re on top of things this close to Cheltenham.’

WON 4-6 SAMCRO (Sunday * supernap)
WON 5-6 TOTAL RECALL (Sunday * supernap)
WON 5-6 COUNTISTER (Saturday * supernap)
WON 11-2 PLANET NINE (Friday nap)
WON 8-11 CAPTAIN CATTISTOCK (Thursday supernap)
WON 4-6 UNCLE ALASTAIR (Wednesday supernap)
WON 11-10 TARA BRIDGE (Tuesday supernap)

EASY AS 321 FOR JACK

Market Rasen goes ahead today and the course gave the green light two hours ahead of schedule !! The 9am inspection wasn’t needed in the end after temperatures didn’t fall as low as expected.

At Sedgefield the issue has been snow even though the track was raceable at the time of the first inspection at 8am. Two subsequent inspections followed at 10am and 11am but it was third time unlucky with the score SNOW 1 SEDGEFIELD 0.

No problems at Southwell today.

1.30 Southwell Oisin Murphy and Andrew Balding teamed up with a winner at Lingfield on Saturday and the same partnership can land the opener here with Dawn Dancer. He proved he could handle this idiosyncratic surface with a good run behind the odds-on On The Warpath last time out. The winner is a typical Sir Mark Prescott trained improver who went on to win his next start too in comfortable fashion (beating Love Rat, who runs here, into fifth).

This looks a tougher race than the one in which Love Rat started favourite for last time but could only finish second.

Pacific Fleet has the best form with two turf thirds at Redcar and York but is untried on the surface and has been off the track for nearly 200 days.

2.55 Market Rasen Dans Le Vent was a winner here before being thrown in at the deep end at Newbury in the Challow Hurdle where he was never a factor and beaten over 50 lengths. Although he had his limitations ruthlessly exposed, it was interesting that connections thought he was worth trying in a Grade 1.

Knight In Dubai will be tough to beat here though. He already has some Graded race form as he was third to Mr Whipped last time in a Grade 2 novices’ hurdle at Warwick. He was still in the lead at the last and on only his second start over hurdles that was a great effort from which he should improve further.

The Nicky Henderson trained Burrows Edge is a big danger having run well enough in fourth on his hurdling debut at Kempton in the race won by Mister Malarky. Even though the winner didn’t advertise the form next time out, the third horse Potterman did well subsequently and Burrows Edge is certain to improve.

4.10 Southwell Jack Blane looks the nap on the card. He attempts to go 3-2-1 and the good news for his supporters is that he remains on the same handicap mark and this looks an easier contest than the ones in which he finished a close second and third in.

Keith Dalgleish has trained two winners from his last five runners on the flat and against mainly out of form rivals Jack Blane should gain reward for his consistency.

DAQMAN’S BETS (staked to win 20 points)
BET 6.8pts win DAWN DANCER (1.30 Southwell)
BET 10.2pts win KNIGHT IN DUBAI (2.55 Market Rasen)
BET 13.3pts win (nap) JACK BLANE (4.10 Southwell)
