TIPS FOR THE 2016 CLASSICS TRIALS: There are a dozen major tests for two-year-olds in September, and today Daqman presents his six hits for this juvenile trials season, with a view to the Classics of 2016.

LIVE DANGEROUSLY! TAKE THE 8.2: Richard Fahey seems to be trainer to follow with a treble chance at Epsom today, but Daqman lives dangerously with one overpriced at 8.2. His nap at Goodwood is a banker.

SIX TWO-YEAR-OLD STARS WITH TOP POTENTIAL

Cloth Of Stars Son of Sea The Stars out of a sister to Oaks winner Light Shift, won his maiden at Deauville last month, and Andre Fabre has declared as his target the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (Grand Criterium), in which Gleneagles was first past the post last year.

Herald The Dawn Dawn Approach’s brother could be seen next week at Doncaster (Champagne Stakes) or The Curragh (National Stakes) on his way to the Dewhurst Stakes, after setting the juvenile scene alight for Jim Bolger with his Futurity victory over Now Or Never and Shogun.

Justice Law The ever adroit David Elsworth, who models his manner on Ryan Price, and lets the horses do the talking, has this grey colt entered at Salisbury and Haydock this week, prepping for the Racing Post Trophy. Beat John Gosden’s fine Newmarket winner, Tashweeq, at Newbury.

Landofhopeandglory It’s never easy knowing the pecking order at Ballydoyle, and I doubt if Aidan O’Brien would know, but he has this son of High Chaparral entered in absolutely everything: National Stakes, Royal Lodge, Beresford, Dewhurst, Racing Post Trophy. And Epsom Derby.

Linguistic Son of a French Guineas and Derby winner out of a daughter of an Irish Derby and King George winner, could this be John Gosden’s Derby horse for 2016? More importantly, right now, can he be got ready for the Dewhurst or the Racing Post Trophy?

Tanaza As well as good form (two out of two), Dubawi’s daughter has shown a fine temperament for Dermot Weld and his owner, the Aga Khan, dismissing the Leopardstown gamble on Ballydoyle’s Alice Springs. It was a dazzling performance and she is a strong Guineas prospect.

SURELY A FAHEY DIAMOND IN ONE OF THESE..

2.00 Epsom Richard Fahey goes for a hat-trick here with Zahrat Narjis, who got within three lengths of Lowther winner, Besharah, earlier in the year and drops three grades from a Goodwood class-2 for this. Will she act on the heavy ground?

3.05 Epsom Fahey has won this sprint three times in five seasons, and his form in the race is 1101. His runner, Khelman, has dropped to his lowest rating for more than a year and he’s been placed four times on the soft

Kinglami, who also gets his ground, is back to his best trip, but is still a stone higher than when winning at Windsor on heavy last backend.

With the Fahey pair, Zahrat Narjis (2.00) and Khelman (3.05) averaging around 3.6 on BETDAQ this morning, I backed them to bring in at least one return, win on the first, if lose win on the second, and a small double in case both are successful.

3.35 Epsom Richard Fahey could make it a hat-trick here with his last year’s winner of this (on soft), Ixelles Diamond, but I think there’s one overpriced.

Live Dangerously – at 8.2 on BETDAQ early mouse – seems to be an improver, going through the grades (won class 6 Brighton, then won class 5 Goodwood on soft) and I’m a bit worried by Ixelles’ attitude (beaten last twice, ‘dwelt’ then ‘pulled hard’)

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU AT GOODWOOD

3.15 Goodwood Addicted To Luck has already won on soft ground but faces a rise of three grades from her Brighton success in class 5.

Blossomtime and Sixties Sue have already gone well at this level, and I fancy Sixties Icon (6.2 offers this morning).

Daughter of a St Leger winner whose get have a 20% record on today’s ground, she’s in her first handicap here, and was not disgraced tackling Listed class.

4.20 Goodwood Gale Force, eight-lengths winner at Kempton over 2m, was dropped back in trip at Nottingham on the soft last time.

The Shirocco filly just failed to catch Rhombus but the extra distance here and the turn around in weights makes her a seeming good thing.
