FOUR NAPS IN A ROW: Daqman made a bold bid for his fifth nap in a row yesterday but was cruelly denied after Out For A Stroll (5/2) lost momentum with a blunder at the last and was held in second at the line. It was still a great run of FOUR NAPS ….

RAIN STOPS PLAY: Heavy rain forced the abandonment of today’s Hereford card but Chepstow passed their morning inspection. Daqman switches to Wolverhampton for three bets on Tuesday.

HOLDING OUT FOR A HERO

⭕ 4.30 Wolverhampton I’ll stick to the all-weather racing on Tuesday, as recent experience proves that passing an inspection doesn’t necessarily mean racing going ahead!

Wolverhampton stage a nine race card starting at 4.30pm and the opener gives a good chance to the David Loughnane trained Partisan Hero to make amends for his defeat at the course last time now that Rossa Ryan takes over from the apprentice rider.

Ryan himself has been in good form of late, with four winners from his last eight rides and teams up with the five-year-old who still retains plenty of potential in a race full of generally exposed runners.

Rivals include Yeoman who just seems to be struggling off his current handicap mark and I don’t see any obvious reasons why his last four course efforts of 5233 will be improved on here given that his handicap mark stubbornly refuses to drop.

A bigger danger may come from Bearaway who represents Simon Pearce’s in-form stable.

He has only had two runs since joining the yard, winning at Lingfield and beaten a head at the same course last time out, suggesting there could be more to come from the seven-year old.

LOUGHNANE DOUBLE? HOW FARH !

⭕ 7.00 Wolverhampton I’m hopeful of a David Loughnane / Ross Ryan double on tonight’s card as his This Farh looks strong in this seven furlong race.

After four promising races to date he starts life handicapping off a mark of 72 and is preferred to Blue Secret (now tongue-tied after seemingly regressing) and Lovesick who was a narrow course and distance winner last month and is another handicap debutant here.

HAT-TRICK FOR INIT?

⭕ 8.30 Wolverhampton This should turn out to be the match that the Betdaq Betting Exchange market points to and preference has to be for the hat-trick seeking Init Together.

He’s obviously heading up the weights but not dramatically so and could have easily fared worse than a four pound rise for a four and a half length course and distance win in January and then a further three pound hike for his Lingfield win just five days later.

In truth, the handicapper hasn’t had much to go on as he looks rejuvenated since joining the yard from Ireland where his recent form has been over hurdles.

He’s pretty talented on the flat though as he proved at Leopardstown back in 2023 when a 50/1 runner-up in a handicap.

Main market rival is I Can’t Believe who carries the statutory 5lb penalty for his win here just yesterday. He had quite a tough race and it will be hard to follow-up just over 24 hours later.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
