SHE’S ON FIRE

⭕ 2.10 Lingfield A low grade 7f handicap but it’s hard not to be drawn in by the Charlie Fellowes trained Holy Fire who has been knocking on the door.

She looked unlucky over course and distance last time out when second to Ten Club and she has every chance of reversing that form with a 3lb swing in the weights. She has also fared better in the draw department.

Graduated has gone UP in the weights despite a form sequence this season of 49343333362 !

STAR APPEAL

⭕ 5.30 Wolverhampton This class 2 handicap is a real standout in terms of quality on tonight’s Dunstall Park card.

I like the fact that the lightly raced Sarab Star already has experience at this level having finished second to Chancellor in a Grade 2 at Kempton last time out.

It was a big leap in class for him having preciously won a class 5, also at Kempton, but he handled himself well only getting caught in the closing stages suggesting his starting handicap mark of 88 was generous and he should be able to take the 4lb hike in his stride.

Hat-trick seeking Conscript is a big danger on his handicap debut. His wins have come at Ffos Las and Kempton – both class 5 events – and whilst he has bags of potential these are much deeper waters in terms of quality.

The Richard Hannon trained Al Arbeed has been fairly highly tried since winning on debut at Southwell but is definitely short listed.

LEADING CHANCE

⭕ 8.00 Wolverhampton A more modest class 5 novice event but it’s attracted two recent winners who might well prove to be well above this grade in the future.

Night Storm heads the morning Betdaq Betting Exchange market after his win on second start at Newcastle last time out when he had a battle with Montezin with the pair pulling nicely clear. The runner-up boosted that form with a win next time out.

At the prices though preference is for the Roger Varian trained Leading Times who made a winning debut at Southwell despite everything going wrong for him during the race. With that experience behind him he should improve significantly.
