A WINNER TO START THE WEEK: Daqman started the week with a win, and kept afloat with his staking plan, when Victoria Falls (WON 9-4) scored at Thirsk yesterday. Follow his bets on BETDAQ today and don’t forget to use the plan which takes a twist today with one bet only applying if an earlier selection wins.

SEE HOW THEY RUN: Continuing the search for the top two-year-olds who will be stars of the 2024 season.

THE TOP 12 TWO-YEAR-OLDS

THERE are 33,000 horses in training in England, Ireland and France put together.. and Daqman wants to find the top 10!

It’s not quite that bad because the search area is exclusively two-year-olds and then just the top of the cream (12 considered so far, listed below), still with time to prove themselves in the last six weeks of the season.

Daqman identifies the top performances as they come along but relates them to the quality and level of each race (see yesterday’s verdict on the Beresford and Mill Reef Stakes).

WORTH A FEW COPPERS

⭕ 1.50 Redcar Copper And Five is something of a season ticket holder here at Redcar but is ultra consistent and hard to get away from in the opener now down in grade and also a pound lower in the weights.

Add to the mix that his trainer Ruth Carr is in good current form (4 winners from last 18) and the talented Mia Nicholls takes over in the saddle for the first time.

A previous course and distance winner, Copper And Five also ran a solid race over C&D last time out when fourth to easy winner Ron O who is also declared on today’s card in the 3.35pm.

I’ll back that formline and have a bet on Ron O but only if Copper And Fives wins to give it a timely boost.

BATT’S THEM AWAY

⭕ 5.10 Yarmouth The defection of Panning For Gold leaves the door open a bit here for the Gosden’s Battista who should really be good enough to land this off a mark of 78.

Since a promising Kempton debut he has seemingly improved in three starts since and coped well with today’s forecast good to soft ground at Sandown last time out when chasing home Crystal Casque who has also won subsequently at Ascot.

That form appeals much more than that of main Betdaq Betting Exchange rival Tuxedo Junction who is down in class but has some serious questions to answer after a notably disappointing effort at Windsor last time out when last of the 11 runners.

POWER HAS LESS QUESTION MARKS

⭕ 7.30 Newcastle Vindobala is undoubtedly well handicapped but she’s very unpredictable – twice she’s refused to race this season and has also shown temperament at the start. She’s an ideal Betdaq in-play project as even a ‘normal’ start would see her likely to figure at the finish.

Cephalus hasn’t managed to recapture his form of 2021/2 which saw him win four in a row and was bitterly disappointing last time out when a tailed off last of six at Chelmsford.

The safest play looks to be Sun Power. He went close last time out over course and distance but was beaten by a 50/1 chance.

He’s up 3lb for that run and now 15 without a win but with some serious question marks over his main rivals looks to be the play.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
