LAST WORD ON THE CUP
🇦🇺 It’s all Yours! Those of us looking behind the winner of the key race, Caulfield Cup, were following the old-school ‘form line’ to land the Melbourne Cup.
It’s the story of the jockey who had been told to ‘take a look’ at the others and not leave the main prize behind in the trial.
‘Could he have beaten the winner?’ the trainer asks afterwards. ‘No problem,’ the rider replies, ‘but it’s them devils behind who worry me!’
Such was the bunching behind the winner, Half Yours, last month at Caulfield that racereaders spotted half a dozen hard-luck stories, as reported in Daqman yesterday: short of room, not clear run, impeded, not clear run, finished well, carried wide..
But the result this morning was ‘all Yours, Jamie Melham.’ She completed the double on Half Yours by the ‘exact same’ distance that she had run clean away in the Caulfield.
Now here’s one last tip on this year’s Aussie race, especially for BETDAQ punters: how to make Half Yours all yours!
Of the last 10 winners of the Melbourne Cup, only one scored next time out. The lay looks a lay-down!
* THIS WEEK: Flat farewell at Doncaster.
NIGHT TO TAKE FLIGHT
⭕ 3.40 Lingfield A busy nine race card at Lingfield today where the best bet looks to be Night Arc in the mile handicap.
Trained by Ross Burdon, the six-year-old made a winning start for his new yard at Wolverhampton last time out with a comfortable three length win. He escapes a penalty for that win which came in an apprentice contest and looks well handicapped now on the basis he appears to have been freshened up by the change of yard.
Chico Dulce is the obvious danger reflected too in the Betdaq Betting Exchange market. He’s been running well over a longer 1m 2f trip but I’m not certain the drop back to a mile will necessarily suit.
The others look mainly in the grip of the handicapper. Three On Thursday ran well to take third over course and distance last time out and could again run into a place after a six week break.
HOLY TO BREEZE PAST
⭕ 4.10 Lingfield Dropping back to seven furlongs for the finale and I want to take on the market leader Spirit Of Breeze who is unpenalised for a course and distance win last week but this looks a tougher contest.
Holy Fire looks a realistic alternative given the mare is dropping down in class and has been running back into form going close last time out at Yarmouth when a half length second having not had the clearest of runs.
SUNNY SIDE UP FOR SOLARIZE
⭕ 5.30 Wolverhampton Charlie Johnston’s Solarize has progressed in all three of his starts culminating with an easy win at Chelmsford last time out where he beat some better fancied rivals in what looked a decent contest.
80 doesn’t look a bad starting handicap mark and he should be too progressive in a field of quite exposed runners.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
