BE MY ‘GEST’ AT BETDAQ 6.0: It was a long wait for a winner yesterday but Daqman finally hit two in 15 minutes last night with Elbereth (WON 5-2) at Kempton and Almagest (WON 3-1) at Ripon. Almagest was 6.0 on BETDAQ when Daqman made his selections.

DAQ SPONSORS KEMPTON FOUR: Daqman picks out the two best races of the afternoon at Ponteftract and Brighton, where the famous Mile is bring run, but saves his nap for the BETDAQ-sponsored quartet of hot heats at Kempton Park tonight.

MIME DANCE IS MILE HIGH AT 11.5

3.50 Brighton (Brighton Mile) What is it with this race? The draw bias is just about the strangest I’ve seen, if indeed it is a bias. Winners seem to come from very high or very low.

The last nine renewals have produced three drawn in the low four and five drawn in the three highest stalls, as follows: 4/15, 1/15, 13/15, 12/12, 12/12, 13/15, 6/16, 15/13, 2/14.

I shall look very closely at the way the race is run today and try to fathom the reason for it. But first I’ll back gate 13 and on the other side 3.

Good Luck Charm (in 3) is now down to within a pound of his winning mark on this course over 7f about a year ago, and I took 7.2 on BETDAQ.

Mime Dance (in 13) has spent his brief career on this type of track (7 runs out of 11 at Epsom and Goodwood), and could suddenly improve with Andrew Balding red hot right now, though 11.5 early mouse.

3.40 Pontefract What to believe? I roasted the form of Freemason Lodge after a poor run by trainer Stoute and opposed his Gordon Stakes winner, Snow Sky. Oops!

Stoute immediately picked up the losing thread: 19 consecutive in England, 20 including Integral at Deauville at the weekend. It’s almost as if Snow Sky had been in an isolation ward on a different planet.

So what to do about Rocket Ship here? Well Rocket Ship is not only from a stable having a bad run but doesn’t have much form to shout about.

Those immediately behind him in his latest starts, including the Catterick win, haven’t done too badly but are all stuck on class 4 or 5 rungs of the ladder.

Rocket Ship has had twice as many starts as the other three-year-old in the race, the unexposed Hidden Gold. Of the older horses, Linguine will love top of the ground (some of the others in this need rain) and has earned top weight: the 14.0 is wrong.

GRASPED IN OPENING BETDAQ RACE

6.10 Kempton Park (Betdaq No Premium Charge Apprentice Handicap)

The opening BETDAQ race at Kempton this evening is not the most competitive race to start with as Lady Cecil’s Grasped looks to have an easy enough task to add a fourth win to her career.

With three wins already on the All Weather, her only defeat coming at Beverley, she should be hard to stop in this having only got a 2lb rise for her last win and with a slight step up in trip it is very hard to see past her in the opener.

6.40 Kempton Park (BETDAQ £25 No Lose Free Bet Fillies Handicap)

This race is slightly more competitive than the opening race but Cam Hardie looks to have a nice opportunity of doubling up with Shining Glitter for James Fanshawe.

Although she hasn’t managed to get her head in front, she ran well behind Grasped last time out in her first handicap over 10 furlongs at Lingfield.  However, her only try at tonight’s trip resulted in her finishing down the field and I would have some reservations about how good her stamina actually is.

Bella Varenna is another that looks to excel on the All Weather having won nicely at Lingfield over a mile and a half last time out.  She progressed nicely to that win and could progress again to go close in this one.

In saying all that though, the one I’m going to side with is Andrea Atzeni’s mount, Sleeper.  A winner last time on the turf at Windsor in a slightly higher grade contest than this one.  The step in trip on that occasion looked to work wonders and she should be able to cope with the All Weather tonight to score for Atzeni and Ralph Beckett.

7.40 Kempton Park (BETDAQ 3% Commission Handicap)

There are a couple of questions over one or two of the ones in this one mile three furlong handicap, namely with the likely favourite, Bishop of Ruscombe who is returning from an absence since his sole win at Kempton back in March.

Having not been seen since, a horse with so little experience may need a run to get back into top gear but he should go close nonetheless.

Billy Blue steps to this trip for the first time today but his best form comes at a mile having won here last December.  He doesn’t have the most orthodox way of travelling carrying his head quite high and may struggle against some better handicapped sorts.

Censorius is one who has improved markedly since switching to the All Weather but he needs to improve again to be competitive here.

Barye looks the best option is an open looking race for Jim Crowley and David Simcock.  He won at Lingfield in January over 10 furlongs and only got going near the finish to collar Late Night Mark on the line.  I would doubt that 11 furlongs is his optimum trip either but he looks like he could be able to improve coming back to the All Weather surface and he looks the one here.

8.40 Kempton Park (Win Big on the BETDAQ Colossus Handicap)

The final BETDAQ race of the evening looks to be another good contest and there are a couple with decent chances in here.

The Godolphin pair of Musaddas and Bombardment look to both hold good chances with Musaddas winning finally last time out at Thirsk.  Bombardment on the other hand is far less exposed but lead all the way to win last time which may prove more difficult tonight from a high draw.

High Time Too likes it around Kempton and having won a couple of times over course and distance and coming back to the London track should be in his favour and is worth an each way shout.

It looks like it could be hard to beat Musaddas provided he improves again after his last run with High Time Too taken for a place chance.
