THE DAILY DAQMAN BRILLIANCE: Winner-a-day Daqman, who landed his nap on Monday, played with his usual savvy to land another winner yesterday, eased down nearly six lengths clear but at tasty odds against.:

WON 11-4 SAVVY BRILLIANCE

CHELTENHAM: BIG PLAYERS ON PARADE: Which events at Cheltenham this weekend have produced winners at the festival? Which trainers have won which races? It’s a Daqman race-by-race survey of the Friday and Saturday cards.

TWO-DAYS OF FESTIVAL TRIALS

This Weekend at Cheltenham
🔹 Daqman 8, Pricewise 2 (+157.75 to -125.00)
🔹 105 naps up this year
🔹 Fortune Cookies

⭕ 12.40 Cheltenham, Friday Nicky Henderson has won this 2m 4f+ novice chase four times since 2013 when Oscar Whisky landed the first of a hat-trick, priming him for the festival, where he fell at the first at 9-2!

Henderson also won this with Whisper (2016), – beaten a nose at the festival – Mister Fisher (2019) and Fusil Raffles (2020).

⭕ 3.00 Cheltenham, Friday Any Currency, who took this cross-country handicap in 2014, was runner-up at the festival, giving 15lb to the winner.

Josies Orders won this (2015) and was then awarded the festival cross-country when Any Currency was disqualified for a banned substance.

Easysland (2019) also completed the double but was blown away by Tiger Roll at the festival in 2021.

FORTUNE COOKIES Gesskille, Latenightpass

⭕ 12.05 Cheltenham, Saturday Defi Du Seuil (2016) won this Triumph Hurdle Trial and then triumphed at the festival.

⭕ 12.40 Cheltenham, Saturday This is the novices handicap of almost 3m 2f, which threw up the RSA winner Blaklion (2015) and Corach Rambler (2021), who would go on to win the Ultima two years running, followed by the 2023 Grand National.

⭕ 1.50 Cheltenham, Saturday: December Gold Cup preview tomorrow

⭕ 2.25 Cheltenham, Saturday 3m 2f handicap chase won twice each in seven years by three stables: Team Tizzard, Nigel Twiston-Davies and Venetia Williams.

Venetia runs either or both of Enjoy Your Life and Easy As That, while ‘Twiston’ saddles Broadway Boy solo.

FORTUNE COOKIES: Houston Texas, Malina Girl

⭕ 3.00 Cheltenham, Saturday Albert Bartlett novices’ hurdle trial, for which Twiston-Davies is a three-time winner (2014, 2016 and 2019) with Blaklion (subsequently fourth in the Grand National), Wholestone and Redford Road.

A ZWICKY SITUATION

⭕ 1.15 Hexham Zwicky’s hat-trick bid ended with a good ground third at Doncaster last time out but the return to more testing conditions may help.

It was soft when he won a big field race at Carlisle last time out and that’s a demanding circuit so hopefully he can handle the heavy here.

He’s on a career high mark but is still preferred to Juge Et Parti (up in the weights for a course and distance second last time out) and Beaumesnil (unproven on ground).

TIME TO INTERVENE

⭕ 2.00 Lingfield Intervention must have every chance of completing the hat-trick for trainer Mick Appleby.

The handler has sent his six-year-old out again quickly after his seven furlong win here last week and although running under a 5lb penalty is still 2lb well in on the revised handicap marks which have yet to kick in.

The drop back in trip shouldn’t inconvenience him given that five of his nine career wins have come over today’s six furlongs.

Alistair Rawlinson is back aboard and it’s likely the same point and shoot tactics will be deployed as they were at Wolverhampton two starts ago when the pair made all after quickening nicely two furlongs out.

None of his 10 rivals today come into this on the back of a win but there’re a few lurking in terms of showing a return to form.

Main danger on the Betdaq Betting Exchange market is Ancient Times who has taken a further drop in the weights having hinted at a return to form at Wolverhampton last time out. Whilst he has winning form over 6f, the suspicion is that he is better suited by the minimum trip though.

BROOM MIGHT NOT SWEEP UP

⭕ 2.50 Exeter Backers of Broomfield Present are on a recovery mission after the seven-year-old had the misfortune of being brought down at Uttoxeter last time out when sent off a 5/4 fav. He has being ridden at the time and might well not have won anyway in a race that looked weaker than this. I wouldn’t want to be steaming in at short odds again especially with the Kim Bailey yard quiet at the moment.

I prefer Lyrical Genius who is a resolute stayer who handles conditions well. He goes well for Lilly Pinchin and a first win over fences looks on the cards here after a solid effort at Carlisle last time out.

Golden Sovereign is of interest but hasn’t managed to win after lengthy breaks in the past and has a 275 day absence to overcome.

THE WHIRL-WIND ROMANCE

⭕ 7.30 Kempton Wild Flower Stakes (Listed Race) Rebel’s Romance is the obvious one to beat on the figures and sets a high standard on his first UK start since Goodwood in July. He’s picked up plenty of airmiles since then with wins in Germany and the States and wouldn’t need to be fully wound up to land this although the price is too short for me.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
