DAQMAN’S BACK ON THE SUPERNAP TRAIL: Daqman dared his first supernap of the year yesterday and Blue Trail (WON 4-6) made no mistake to maximum stakes (20 points), going right away in the final furlong at Southwell, landing a lucky-13 points profit.
WON 4-6 BLUE TRAIL (supernap profit 13.33)
BETDAQ THYESTES CHASE BETTING: Daqman won a big-race long weekend 4-1 against Pricewise only a few days ago. Now here’s another one coming, starting even earlier with the Thyestes Chase at Gowran Park tomorrow. Look out for his ABC guide.

EXPECT RUN ON 10.0 WALKING
Nicky Henderson is walking on air! He was put on the spot by having two contenders for the Supreme Novices Hurdle, J P McManus’s hat-trick winner Jonbon being the original stable choice.
But then Michael Buckley’s Constitution Hill became a second Seven Barrows star, setting punters a puzzle with the form and what the stable is thinking.
The trainer has to keep all balls in the air and show considerably more political acumen than our civil-service-fed Ministers reading from briefings, yet still umming and aahing in plain sight.
He has to know both horse and owner, and put his neck on the line, whether he wears a trilby or a cloth cap.
Henderson was happy to admit he was surprised about the excitement brewing in the yard before Constitution Hill’s Sandown success and was ‘blown away’ when he watched on TV during an enforced isolation, and had to check with jockey Nico De Boinville that ‘it really did happen.’
In Henderson’s words: ‘We’re lucky to have both boys.’ He meant the horses but he could well mean the owners, too!
Douvan’s brother, Jonbon, and Constitution Hill are also entered in the half-a-mile further Ballymore, where you can currently get 10.0 in the BETDAQ Sportsbook about Walking On Air. Trainer? Nicky Henderson: all avenues covered, then.
Walking On Air is bred to get 3m yet impressively went clear over 2m at Newbury last week. When Constitution Hill and Jonbon are out of the Ballymore, Walking On Air will be shorter, for sure.
Willie Mullins had 21 in the Supreme when entries were announced yesterday and Nicky Henderson 9. That’s 50% of the field in total at this stage. Novice-hurdle entries overall were down by between 21% and 27%.
Add those figures together and you have the trend of quality horses in diminishing numbers trained by top trainers with diminishing opposition.. except from themselves.
CHEERS TO MARTINI
⭕ 3.00 Lingfield There was plenty to like about the debut performance of Dirty Martini and she can continue the good recent form of her trainer Stuart Williams (5 from 22).
She was nibbled at in the market ahead of her first run at Southwell and ended up running a bit green and free but was only collared close home by the favourite Al Ameen who has since run another solid race at Lingfield in better company.
Dirty Martini should know plenty more about the game today and can see off the principal expected challenge from Mick McHugh who also showed promise on his debut but I’d have more confidence on his chance if he was racing over a trip longer than the minimum.
MORE FROM MORLAIX
⭕ 6.30 Kempton Just a quartet of runners head to post for this class 4 handicap with the defection of Charlie Arthur.
It still leaves a wide open market on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
Interesting to see morning support for the two outsiders Kasperenko and Prince Of Hearts and it’s a coin flip between the other pair Minister For Magic and Morlaix as to which one will go off favourite.
Trainer form has always been a major factor in Daqman’s selection processes and that tilts me here towards the David Simcock trained Morlaix.
Simcock has sent out 4 winners from his last 21 runners including Morlaix himself who seemed to win with plenty in hand at Chelmsford two weeks ago. He took a bump inside the final furlong but was still going away towards the end and the 3lb hike in the weights looks more than manageable.
Minister For Magic represents Harry Dunlop who hasn’t had many runners recently. She made a good debut for the Dunlop yard when runner-up in a novice event here over a slightly longer trip and was a 50/1 winner on her debut at Killarney but her starting mark seems plenty high enough.
STAYING NAME OF THE GAME
⭕ 7.35 Kempton Always like the two milers on the all-weather at Kempton as it’s usually easily to dismiss a few suspect stayers. That’s the case here but not the case with Aleatoric who is the only previous distance winner in the field.
He ran a shocker at Southwell in December (beaten 76 lengths) but it was much better at Lingfield earlier in the month when looking the winner until deep inside the final furlong and finishing third at 40/1. That should have put him spot on for this and the handicapper has thrown in a pound drop in the weights which is simply a bonus.
DAQMAN’S BETS (staked to win 10 points)
BET 5.0pts win DIRTY MARTINI (3.00 Lingfield)
BET 5.0pts win (nap) MORLAIX (6.30 Kempton)
BET 1.4pts win ALEATORIC (7.35 Kempton)
What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
