DAQMAN IN FRONT WITH NAP No 19: Daqman edged a profit yesterday with his 19th winning nap of the new year (38% strike rate). That kept him in front for the third consecutive day.
WON 15-8 PALLAS LORD (nap) Tuesday profit 0.70 points
WON 6-1 FEVERTRE Monday profit 14.40 points
WON 15-8 FIRE DEMON (BETDAQ 5.7) Sunday profit: 53.25 points
WON 10-1 WHERE IT ALL BEGAN (BETDAQ 14.5)
AINTREE WEIGHTS: 17.0 ANTE-POST: Daqman matches the Grand National weights with his own ratings – first eight published yesterday – and reckons previous success has been ignored. But the value left overnight is one at 17.0 on BETDAQ.
CRAZY FORM TODAY: A minefield of beaten favourites at Ludlow (3.30) and horses pulled up 12 times in their form figures for Doncaster (2.35).
NATIONAL: VANILLIER’S LEG UP
⭕ 4.00 GRAND NATIONAL, 4m 2f 74 yd, Aintree, April 13 Last year’s Grand National one-two Corach Rambler and Vanillier, were given incentives to run again in April, when the weights came out yesterday, according to Daqman’s ratings.
Noble Yeats, the 2022 winner, was also given a couple of pound of Liverpool generosity, if Daqman’s assessments (in parentheses) are to be believed.
The weights relationship between Corach Rambler and Vanillier are the same in both lists, 8lb advantage to Vanillier, but Daqman raised them both because they went clear of the field last year.
Vanillier was giving a pound when getting within a couple of lengths of the winner that day, with Noble Yeats an eight-lengths fourth

LETTER FOR TWO LONGSHOTS
⭕ 2.35 Doncaster A lot of letters to their names here; 12 pulled-up (P) in their last five or six starts; plus a faller (F) and an unseated (U).
The last time Pounding Poet was placed, he was responding to first-time cheekpieces but a switch to the visor failed to inspire him, so he has set up an offputting PP, like the Nicky Henderson runner, Fable (P13P-P).
Fable won back to back at this trip nearly three years ago after a P! And cheekpieces could raise her game today.
Nico de Boinville has done it all on Fable: a hat-trick of wins and a treble of PUs. But she’s sure to be busy this afternoon with his inspiration and the aid of the cheekpieces.
A visor could improve Bridge North but Romeo Brown catches the eye. He usually needs a couple of races to loosen the joints, and he’s back to the mark he won from over this kind of trip at Haydock and followed up at Aintree.
I worry that the ground will be too soft for Maka De Vassy but Johnson’s Blue should be happy in it; he won 7-10 hurdles in 2022-23 and was 11-10 for his chasing debut at Kelso in September but unseated rider. Back to hurdles today, and his 11-10 odds at Kelso suggests he was ready after a long break, and it could be the case after another long absence today.
But you have to trust trainer Mark Walford, who hasn’t had a winner at Doncaster from 38 tries.
Blue Ridge Hill gets between a stone and two stone; often seen around the business end of a race but it was his staying-on fifth on his handicap debut at Sandown the last day that suggested better things to come.
Betdaq Betting Exchange value 10.5 Romeo Brown, 15.5 Fable
ROCKIN OFF REVISED WEIGHT
⭕ 3.30 Ludlow There’s an awful lot of cash to be recouped here: three times beaten favourite, Didero Vallis has been a nearly horse since third in the Kim Muir at the 2022 festival.
He’s suffered 12 defeats, but with form figures 3022 when best backed; last won a race in February 2021.
One True King was made favourite at Market Rasen in September and finished third; as a result he’s been supported since at Leicester (beaten favourite) and Doncaster and tried in a visor with just another place without winning to see for it.
Dalamoi three times beaten favourite in his last four starts! Post Chaise BF three times since scoring last January but winning at Market Rasen when not fancied!
Rockinastorm lost his unbeaten chase record (2-2 in the autumn) when failing the last twice but was carrying 11st 9lb in bad ground.
This is a rise in grade – though you wouldn’t notice from the form – which means he has dropped more than a stone to 10st 7lb BETDAQ 3.65.
SPEECH RATES A SUPERNAP
⭕ 7.00 Kempton The latest winner of this ‘European Road to the Kentucky Derby’ took a Euro route of SEVEN successes to Qatar (Doha) last year via Stockholm and through Italy, Germany, France.. but never set foot in America!
Charlie Appleby didn’t have a Road runner in 2023 but won it the two previous years, and can complete a belated hat-trick with Notable Speech, who scored with plenty of leeway last time over the Kempton CD.
The best of his pair of previous, Highland Avenue, went on to take the Gerry Feilden Stakes, a Listed three grades higher than this.
The current Appleby score is 7-16 and Notable Speech was a shade below evens this morning (1.98), so certain to get it sometime during the day.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
