DAQMAN’S THE WARRIOR: A 20 point return from Celtic Warrior (won 100/30) made for a profitable Tuesday for Daqman.

Tuesday: Profit 4.0 points
WON 100/30 CELTIC WARRIOR

5-DAY BRITISH CHAMPIONS GUIDE: Daqman checks out the fillies and mares for Saturdays’ big meeting at Ascot. But are they champions or horses saved up from a moderate season.

DAQMAN’S PICK ON THE SOFT: Nottingham and Kempton also have horses saved up looking for soft ground at Nottingham or the chance at Kempton of winning a classy race against lower-class animals.

THE CLASH OF THE FILLIES

5-DAY BRITISH CHAMPIONS GUIDE: Daqman continues his day-by-day form and facts guide to the five championship races at Ascot on Saturday.

Monday’s Daqman: British Champions Long Distance Cup.
Tuesday’s Daqman: British Champions Sprint

TODAY: 2.35 Saturday, British Champions Fillies And Mares
TOMORROW: 3.15 Saturday, Queen Elizabeth 11 Stakes, British Champions Mile.
FRIDAY: 3.55 Saturday, Champion Stakes, British Champions Middle Distance.

⭕ 2.35 Ascot, Saturday (British Champions Fillies and Mares) Winners of this are far apart: they ran at the Arc meeting or were returning fresh from two or three months off, notably saved up by Team Gosden (Star Catcher 2019 and Emily Upjohn 2022).

Yet seven of the last nine were no bigger than 5-1 at SP; and three of the last five were favourite, though 16-1 and 22-1 outsiders mingled with them in the winners’ enclosure.

Beaten just a neck in this last year on only her seventh start was Bluestocking; third in the Ribblesdale, second in the Irish Oaks, fourth in the Yorkshire Oaks.

Aidan O’Brien landed back-to-back wins with Hydrangea and Magical (2017-18), who had both been seen at the Arc meeting, but not with the epic performance this year of Bluestocking.

If the ground is heavy, you need to be with 115 Content; 114 Quantanamera; the Royallieu winner, 109, Grateful; and 109 Tiffany.

LAAFI IS PREPPED FOR THIS

⭕ 3.45 Nottingham Five at the top of this class-3 handicap are only 2lb apart but only Laafi and further down the handicap Long Tradition, are fresh, having raced only once or twice this season.

Stalls 3, 4 and 5, responsible for six winners in nine years are down the bottom of the handicap. It all adds up to a competitive race on Betdaq Betting Exchange.

Winner at Nottingham and Newmarket on soft ground, Laafi looks prepped for this.

⭕ 4.18 Nottingham Pont Neuf reminds me of his sire, Cotai Glory: talented but a bit quirky. He’s a winner on the soft.

His trainer Eve Johnson Houghton is in solid form with four winners from her last 24 runners

4.50 Nottingham He loves the ground and he loves the trip, and James Doyle has been booked for Solar Acclaim for Hamad Al Jehani, still in a high gear with a 22% strike rate.

Three-year-olds do best and Stash The Cash, another soft-surface lover, is on the hat-trick trail for Tim Easterby and David Allan.

MURPHY DOUBLE AT KEMPTON

⭕ 5.15 and 6.15 Kempton The 5.15 is a class 5, with the first of two Oisin Murphy bets, Hott Shott, dropped from the Grade-3 Solario Stakes at Sandown in August, won by Field Of Gold who was thought good enough to line up for the Lagardere on Arc day.

A class 2 at 6.15, and the usual suspects have turned out to win it in the last few years: Charlie Appleby, William Haggas, Andrew Balding, Ralph Beckett and John Gosden.

But not today. This is for horses in Bands C and D, and Charlie Johnston is top man. He’s booked leading jockey, Oisin Murphy for Rosso Levanto, one of four fillies in the race.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
