WINNER-A-DAY DAQMAN: Daqman’s three strikes in two days maintain his winner-a-day boast:

WON 11-5 PURVIEW (Tuesday)
WON 3-1 COROLLA POINT (Monday)
WON 2-1 ARKENSTAAR (Monday)

ARC WATERING LIKELY: 18 are confirmed for the Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp on Sunday with six of them trying to maintain the terrific 21st-century record for fillies and mares. The ground remains dry in Paris but the French are apt to water freely.

ARE THESE FILLIES UP T0 IT?

🇫🇷 ARC LIGHTS. In yesterday’s Daqman survey, he found a spell where seven Arc winners out of eight were fillies or mares. Can one of the six confirmed for Sunday keep the girls on top?

122 KALPANA (4, Study Of Man) Won British Champions Fillies And Mares 2024. Placed in 3xGroup-1: 3rd Tattersalls Gold Cup to Los Angeles, 2nd Pretty Polly Stakes and 2nd King George.Trainer Andrew Balding 169 winners (19%)

120 AVENTURE (4, Sea The Stars) second in the 2024 Arc, with Los Angeles third and Sosie fourth; has won, stepping up to Group-3, Group-2 and then the Group-1 Vermeille this year. Trainer Christophe Ferland 42 winners (17%).

118 MINNIE HAUK (3, Frankel) 5-5 unbeaten since debut, winning four Oaks in the footsteps of Enable: Cheshire, Oaks, Epsom Oaks, Irish Oaks, Yorkshire Oaks. Trainer Aidan O’Brien 119 winners (24%).

116 GEZORA (3, Almanzor) 1213112 taking Group-2 Saint Alary and Group-1 Diane (French Oaks) before length-and-a-half second in the Vermeille to Aventure. Trainer Francis-Henri Graffard 128 winners (25%).

114 QUISISANA (5, Le Havre) 1111 since June, stepping up from three Listed to win the Group-1 Jean Romanet in August. Trainer Francis-Henri Graffard 128 winners (25%).

112 ESTRANGE (4, Night Of Thunder) 1112 winning Group 3 and Group-2 Lancashire Oaks, both at Haydock, and second to Minnie Hauk in the Yorkshire Oaks. Trainer David O’Meara 79 winners (12%).

OWEN WANTS TO WIN THIS

⭕ 3.30 Musselburgh I don’t often bet in ‘sellers’ but I don’t mind laying an odds-on shot (1.33 this morning) who only 11 days ago lost out in just such a ‘seller’.

I’m opposing Empirestateofmind with Cannon Rock, who is all dressed up to go (first-time visor) for a trainer, James Owen, who has a near-60% strike-rate on the course. BETDAQ 6.8 taken.

⭕ 4.05 Musselburgh Sprints trainer of the year. Jim Goldie would get a lot of votes in that category this season, and he bids to bag another 5f dash, three-handed in this handicap.

He calls on Paul Mulrennan (93 winners) and David Egan (69), both with a strong fan base after a great season.

But be warned that Jim’s three runners put together have scored only 1-12 at Musselburgh; the sole course winner (CD, in fact) is Jm Jhingree, a Hamilton scorer only two days ago, for which he incurs a 6lb penalty.

Lion’s House and Ziggy’s Triton also ran on Monday, making it a tricky race to bet in.

But CD-winner Zarzyni is taken to hold his form : he scored at Southwell 10 days ago, with threeparts of his penalty devoured by a 3lb claim.

His Musselburgh record: 21001310. There’s plenty of pace on which suits Zarzyni from the low draw. He likes to weave his way through from behind the pack so is too big at 15.5 this morning

HIGH DRAMA AT KEMPTON

⭕ 6.00 Kempton With Harry Charlton’s last six favourites recording 123313, I’m happy to see Ten Pounds as one of the market leaders, 2-2 on AW (albeit on Tapeta not tonight’s Polytrack).

But can he beat the Kempton form of Drama: 310111, with two of those wins over the CD in tonight’s class 2? BETDAQ 10.0 looked big this morning.

Marchogion’s AW form is not so hot (1-5) and, though he beat a Newmarket field in the Spring, when the favourite failed to perform, his best efforts have been on tight tracks, Southwell and Chester.

Al Shabab Storm also does well at Chester (AW record 0-3), while Bolo Neighs has had long breaks before and after his last of eight in Marchogion’s Newmarket race

Divine Libra has used AW only for prep runs in his early days but his stable is in hot form (Charles Hills 114423110). He won on the Rowley Mile over 7f and Kieran Shoemark has been booked. BETDAQ 7.5.

Fair Wind could bounce back, travelling strongly to win over the minimum at Ascot last year (class 2) but has finished last in two of his three starts this season.

CANDLE LIT UP FOR TODAY

⭕ 7.00 Kempton Olympic Candle, a course winner under Oisin Murphy, returns to Kempton with the stable in form and has been working well.

Murphy has a 60% strike-rate for Saeed Bin Suroor on this course and I took Betdaq Betting Exchange 3.8.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
