WARRIOR WHO LOVES THE MUD

🔥 Hot Spots 🔥 Two from Daqman’s Hot Spots list give him the chance of a big-race double in consecutive races over the two-day Dublin Festival at Leopardstown this weekend.

163 ROMEO COOLIO (Gordon Eliott) has been declared for the Irish Arkle at 2.55 Leopardstown Saturday. Expected odds 2-1.

Twice a Grade-1 winner this season, he goes for the shorter of two entries over the Dublin Festival weekend, ‘the sensible thing to do in the heavy ground,’ according to his trainer.

172 GAELIC WARRIOR (Willie Mullins) has been declared for the Irish Gold Cup at 3.30 Leopardstown Saturday. Expected odds 16-1.

Soft-heavy form for Gaelic Warrior is 1121111, whereas stablemate Gallopin Des Champs has never won on officially ’heavy’ ground!

PUT TO THE SWORD

⭕ 6.00 Kempton It’s an all-weather day/night with Dundalk and Kempton keeping the show on the road.

This one mile handicap looks best left to the Jamie Osborne trained Aneirin’s Sword who made a winning handicap debut when dead-heating at Chelmsford off a mark of 60.

The grey had shown very little in his three previous races, beaten an aggregate of 48 lengths so there’s every chance he remains well handicapped off tonight’s mark of 61 with Billy Loughnane an obvious positive jockey booking.

Roserunner looks the danger. He made an encouraging handicap debut when narrowly beaten at Wolverhampton and remains open to further improvement.

PENALTY KICK FOR MBAPPE

⭕ 6.30 Kempton This might also be best left to Billy Loughnane and Mbappe to gain an overdue second win on the all-weather.

He was a close-up third behind dead-heaters Token Gesture and Apache Green over course and distance last week and looked more than a shade unlucky having been squeezed out of it in the closing stages in what was a messy finish.

Main danger on the Betdaq Betting Exchange market is Rising Force who arrives on the back of a win at Lingfield last week but the resulting 5lb penalty is a steadier.

READ ALL ABOUT IT

⭕ 8.00 Kempton Exposay is my sporting nap of the day in a race where I want to be against the morning Betdaq favourite Summer Heat.

Exposay put in a great run when a close up third over course and distance last week in a race that looked a little better than this one and has been given every chance by the handicapper racing off the same mark.

Summer Heat is having her first start for trainer James Owen but she remains a maiden and Oisin Murphy couldn’t get her home as favourite at Chelmsford last time out.

Savannah Grey won what could have been a modest four runner race when last seen out at Chelmsford in November (4th from that race well beaten in two starts since) but remains of interest on her handicap debut.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
