WEDNESDAY WINNERS? Daqman keeps the stakes low as the quality of racing remains low. His best bet of the day runs at Kempton.

READ ALL ABOUT IT: There has been further support this week for the Gosden trained Publish in the Betdaq Sportsbook ante-post market for the 2000 Guineas. He raced three times as a two-year-old, winning at Sandown and is now 10-1 for the colts classic.

NEWBURY POINTERS FOR HEREFORD

⭕ 4.30 Hereford Two early non runners for this 2m 3f handicap hurdle on good ground at Hereford.

It’s a competitive heat though on Betdaq Betting Exchange, however I think the top weight Vol Royale is worth opposing despite a 2lb drop in the handicap. His mark looks far too high judged on his handicap debut at Chepstow when beaten 26 lengths. On the plus side he is 2-2 here at Hereford and seems versatile ground wise.

There was plenty of promise from El Curamach on his handicap debut at Newbury when a 40/1 third to runaway winner Guchen. It would be a mistake to rely on that form too literally but it came undoubtedly in a better class contest than this and the lightly raced El Curamach has previously won on good ground at Warwick.

Castelfort is heading the market and rightly so given he is a class dropper – although a wealth warning is that he has been beaten on the last two times he has been sent off market leader.

He’s only raced on good ground once in 14 career starts and just about gets a tick in that box after a 5th placed effort in a class 3 at Newbury.

CORNISH JOKE OF A PRICE

⭕ 5.00 Hereford Cornish Comedy heads the market here but is completely unproven over this trip AND comes into this on the back of a shocking run at Warwick when last of six finishers despite being sent off favourite. He’s also unproven on good ground so you can see why I’m keen to take him on here!

One alternative that catches the eye is The Magus.

He has bits and pieces of form that suggest he could go well both over this extended trip and on the quicker ground.

The problem is that he is coming into this on the back of two poor runs on soft ground. If you are willing to forgive those and focus on this Taunton third in December when third over 2m 7f on good ground it’s a lot more encouraging and he’s 5lb lower today in the handicap.

A DREAM NAP

⭕ 7.30 Kempton Serenity Dream can see off the challenge of plenty of regulars in a race in which five of the eight runners are previous course and distance winners.

The Tony Carroll trained runner only went down by three quarters of a length to hat-trick completing Combustion last time out (C&D) and the marginal 1lb rise should not stop him going one better.
