THREE OUT OF THREE FOR 57 POINTS PROFIT: Daqman’s okay! It was three races three winners yesterday for 57 points profit with a third consecutive best bet up on Kayfleur (WON 7-4). His three successes, trebled on Daq Multiples, were:

SECOND NAPS HAT-TRICK UP IN EIGHT DAYS: The sixth hit by a nap selection in eight days gave him a second hat-trick of daily best bets, with two supernaps among them. In reverse order, they were:

RECALL READY FOR THE BIG TIME
It’s another big call! The Munster National, which threw up a champion in Imperial Call, may have another in Total Recall, if subsequent results of the October event are anything to go by.
The winner of the J T McNamara Ladbrokes Munster National at Limerick has had the form boosted by both second and third, though they were seven lengths and 11 lengths adrift of the clear and easy Willie Mullins winner.
In the shadow of the three-day Cheltenham meeting, runner-up Alpha Des Obeaux slammed A Toi Phil in the Clonmel Oil Chase, with the Galway Plate winner, Blko Des Flos, in third.
And the Munster National third horse home, Phil’s Magic, finished only a length and a half off the amateur-riders’ chase winner in a big field at Cheltenham.
Total Recall surprised the Mullins team the way he won so easily, giving them confidence that an 18lb hike by the handicapper can be shrugged off in the old Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury on Saturday week, now known as the Ladbrokes Trophy, worth £142,000 to the winner.
Total Recall still has only 10st 8lb in the Trophy, as the weights stand currently, which is just 1lb higher than Carruthers when he won it in 2011.
Since then the winning weights parameter has been 11st 1lb to 11st 6lb, which – as the handicap stands – contains American, whose three out of three over fences for Harry Fry has put him up a stone.
Others of the right age (6, 7 and 8 are nine wins out of 10) include short-head Ultima runner-up at Cheltenham Singlefarmpayment, who was ‘the moral’ back on the course in October, four-lengths second to Cogry, giving 13lb.
ANSWER IS BLOWING IN THE WIND
Plenty of heated debate going on over on twitter as to whether punters should have the right to know about wind-ops. The BHA have moved to ensure that trainers will have to declare this fact from January 19 and the letters ‘WS’ will appear next to the horses name to declare ‘wind surgery’.
Plenty seem to be (excuse the old fashioned term) getting their knickers in a twist and the BHA have said: “We are the regulator and will at times have to make decisions that aren’t universally popular among all its participants and stakeholders.”
DAQMAN’s view is the more information the better – punters don’t need to use it and in the digital age of publishing there are no space limitations.
But one thing puzzles. WHY are people possibly objecting to punters being fed this information? It couldn’t POSSIBLY be that there’s an edge to having this data and the genie is now out of the bottle – could it ?
1.11 BUT NOT THE SHORTEST
I’m going to give the jumps a miss today and it seems I’m not the only one looking at some of the field sizes. Heavy ground at Chepstow and Hexham and a match race at Warwick with the favourite at 1.06.
In contrast, Very First Time looks a massive price at 1.11 for the three runner novice chase at Hexham and this one fell last time out !!!
Kempton definitely stage the pick of the action and there’s even a Listed race on tonight’s card.
5.10 Kempton Salute The Soldier was well supported before his debut at Newbury and ran well to finish third to Picture No Sound. He was staying on well and the extra half furlong should prove ideal at this stage of his career.
I’m always reticent to oppose Mr Godsend (editor: Gosden, surely?) but it’s hard to be too enthusiastic about Paltry after what we saw on his debut when he finished 10th of 14. He is surely better than than – but he was also strong in the market suggesting he should have done better.
Flavius Titus improved on his debut to chase home Breath Caught at Doncaster and looks the danger assuming none of the debutants are well above average.
5.40 Kempton Division two of the same race and a red hot favourite in Qaysar who was second over this trip on debut at Newmarket. Even a reproduction of that effort should be good enough to win this and he can start repaying his lofty price tag.
6.40 Kempton (Hyde Listed Stakes) Refreshing to see such a wide open Listed race and a chance is taken with the Richard Hannon trained Khafoo Shememi who won in Listed company at Sandown last time out over a mile.
This looks very much his trip and apart from a poor run at York he has been really consistent this season and also has winning all-weather form over course and distance. Currently 8.6, he looks good value and is put up win and place.
