DAQMAN’S PICK ACROSS THE CARDS: Daqman today spots flaws in the form and potential in the pick of the runners as he looks for BETDAQ value at Leicester, Naas and Wexford.

TOMORROW: Horse-by-horse guide to Saturday’s King George at Ascot.

RIGHT! I’M IN LIKE FLYNN

⭕ 3.58 Wexford The top-weight won this last year and the high ratings are likely to dominate again, yet the overnight market was led by a lightweight with absolutely no form to speak of.

Surely you will be throwing good money after a bad loser to support Falcon Park (lays logic), backed down to 11-8 favourite over hurdles at Sligo first run for Emmet Mullins 17 days back.

Falcon Park’s previous form on good ground has been abysmal and in the last year he has started 20-1, 22-1 (twice), 33-1, 40-1 and 125-1

Those looking for quick retrieval of their Sligo losses must hope for a first success in 22 starts, in which he has finished in the first three just the once.

He is today switched back to fences for the first time since October 2022, with cheekpieces fitted, ludicrously styled BF for his last run (presumably ‘beaten favourite’ but equally BF yourself if you backed him that day).

There is not much depth in this big field and miracles do happen, but you have to follow the adage ‘the race is not always to the strong but that is the only way to bet.’

The winningmost ’system’ in horseracing is to catch potential while it’s translating into success. And trainer Paul Flynn is convinced he has it in this race.

He saddles a good ground winner over hurdles, Rightfolksplease, for whom the showers will be equally welcome but the fences even more so.

Rated 98 over hurdles, Rightfolksplease makes his chasing debut with Paul’s words ringing in my ears: ‘He’s a grand horse and fences will be the making of him.’ I’m in like Flynn at 5.8 on Betdaq Betting Exchange !

GO PINAFORE AND PEARLS

⭕ 6.20 Naas There is a Listed at Naas tonight, which has enticed over from England a William Haggas trained Dark Angel filly, Pinafore.

Haggas is using Chris Hayes again for the four-year-old grey, the partnership having finished second in a similar big-field Listed at the Curragh in October.

Pinafore has the cut she needs and her draw in 4 seems handy, since the race has gone to stalls 5, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2 among the last nine winners.

The clear and present danger is Pearls And Rubies (out of gate 5), who appears to be the gem of the three-year-olds in the race, dropping as she does from six consecutive tries at Group level, including Cheveley Park runner-up to Porta Fortuna who has climbed 16lb above her since then.

Betdaq Betting Forecast 6.7 offers each Pearls And Rubies and Pinafore

SHE INHERITS LISTED TRAIL

⭕ 7.50 Leicester Can Sir Michael Stoute do for Cheveley Park in this with Inherit what he did for Juddmonte when winning with Prepense last year?

Prepense only just scraped black type from a Listed third in France later in the season but that was job done.

And the signs are very much that Inherit (BETDAQ 3.5 taken), who has had only three career starts, can take this – dropped back to 7f – and then a Listed in her stride.

She led until the final furlong but faded in the one-mile novices won at York in June by the royal runner, Rainbows Edge for the Gosdens, who will tackle the Valiant Stakes (Group 3) at Ascot on Saturday’s King George card.

Inherit’s jockey at York and again today, Richard Kingscote, won on Prepense from a dual winner at lower level, which is an apt description of Cypriot Diaspora today.

Tierney won a handicap, but that’s ancient history, while Looking For Queen and Madame De Sevigne are maidens, and Albeseeingyer’s form has dropped away since soft-ground success in the Spring.
