SHINE TO LIGHT UP LINGFIELD
⭕ 4.05 Lingfield Shine That Light could be the answer to the opener. The Richard Hughes trained runner can be forgiven a poor effort at Chepstow last time out when the first time blinkers were obviously resented.
He is better judged on the promise of his two earlier starts at Wolverhampton and Kempton and should be very competitive at this level with the blinkers left off.
Publicist also has something to prove having made a good debut at Newmarket but was a disappointment at evens next time out at Doncaster. It’s possible the softer ground went against her that day.
SURELY TIME FOR GOOD EARTH
⭕ 6.05 Lingfield This won’t take much winning and Good Earth should at last lose his maiden tag on the eighth attempt.
The Jamie Osborne trained runner probably ran his best race yet over course and distance in June when a neck runner-up to Breakfast Club – the winner and third from that race haven’t exactly franked the form subsequently but it still looked a stronger event than this and Good Earth can put his experience to good use.
Current BETDAQ favourite is Shoot The Moon who was last of ten at Kempton last time out but has chances on earlier form and the drop back in trip should help.
Simon and Ed Crisford’s debutant Passional is of obvious interest and at the time of writing fairly solid in the market which might offer the biggest clue.
She cost 62,000 guineas as a yearling and has plenty of speed in her pedigree.
VIOLA STRIKES A CHORD
⭕ 8.05 Lingfield I’m keen on the chances of the James Fanshawe trained filly Viola who has improved over her three starts and makes her handicap debut off what could be an attractive mark.
There was plenty to like about her third to Almareekh at Yarmouth last time out and the winner followed up with a win at Doncaster next time.
She is preferred to the David Simcock trained Float who was a beaten favourite over course and distance last time out and is now in a handicap for the first time.
