THE DAQMAN NAPS LUCK TURNS: Luck was a lady for Daqman yesterday when he landed his nap, Lady Of Spain (WON 8-13), only a shade of odds on with BETDAQ, a worthwhile bet at 10-11 at Wolverhampton.

FOCUS ON THE START OF THE FLAT: Daqman checks out the Saturday card at Doncaster, opening meeting of the Flat season.

THREE FROM THREE: Daqman heads to three courses for three recommended bets on Wednesday including a NAP at Market Rasen.

BILL THE BANDIT IS BACK

⭕ 1.20 Saturday (Doncaster Mile)
AGE: Four and five together 9-11.
STALLS: Seven out of eight winners from gates 1 to 5.
FAVOURITES: Three out of the last five, all odds on.
TRAINER: Roger Varian has won three in the last seven years and has Charyn the likely favourite.

⭕ 1.50 Doncaster (Brocklesby Stakes) Bill Turner used to be the Brocklesby wizard – he trained six winners of the race – and his Somerset yard overlooking King Arthur’s Cadbury Castle tries to restore the old magic with Bob The Bandit

Adrian Murrary could bring over his opening-day Curragh winner, Arizona Blaze, just five days on.

⭕ 2.25 Doncaster, (Spring Mile)
AGE: Four-year-olds 6-8. No outright favourite has won this in 11 years.
STALLS: Those watching the race hoping for a guide to the Lincoln draw will note that the winners of both races have
come from the same side in the last two seasons.
🔢 Spring Mile result by stall: 16, 15, 8, 4, 6, 1, 3, 21, 1, 15
🔢 Lincoln Handicap winner: 3, 3, 15, 22, 20, 10, 17, 10, 4, 12

⭕ 3.00 Doncaster (Cammidge Trophy) Charles Hills, who won this in 2021, has booked Jim Crowley for Orazio, who won his first turf race last April.

⭕ 3.35 Lincoln Handicap: see ABC guide later in the week.

⭕ 4.10 Doncaster (maiden) Andrew Balding, who has won this twice in the last four years, both well-backed favourites, saddles Wild Waves, beaten less than two lengths in each of his two-year-old starts.

⭕ 4.45 Doncaster (Future Stars apprentice handicap) This used to be a grand opening to the meeting, with the winning rider leading jockey for half an hour.

Promoters (what promoters?) of British racing should restore the attraction and finish the Doncaster season with a race for all the winning apprentices of previous years.

Lucinda Russell provided the last two winners for Connor Planas, who still claims 3lb.

KILTA DANGEROUSLY WELL HANDICAPPED

⭕ 4.25 Haydock today Yealand has been sent off market leader in all three of his latest starts (form 125) and could easily head the market again today. He was a disappointing 5th when 6/4 fav at Carlisle last time out and I wouldn’t be in a rush to back him on the back of that effort over similar trip and ground.

A better alternative could be Kilta to follow up on his easy Southwell success last time out. He won with a ton in hand on his handicap debut and the resulting 8lb rise may still be underestimating his ability – by some way.

Glen Canal won back to back races in 2022/23 and has generally been campaigned at a higher level since. He was a soundly beaten third of four on his Carlisle comeback after a lengthy break and doesn’t really appeal for anything more than a place, at best, despite being down a notch in the class ladder.

NO DOUBLE TAKE NEEDED

⭕ 5.15 Market Rasen It’s so hard to get away from Double Powerful in the closing handicap hurdle.

It’s such a bad contest. In Betdaq Betting Exchange order, three of his top four rivals were pulled up in their latest starts.

Double Powerful is out again quickly under his 7lb penalty for a smooth win at Fakenham last week where he brushed aside the odds-on Fever Dream. The ground is softer today but he proved he could handle give in the ground on his previous start when fourth at Wincanton.

Dexperado is probably the one I fear most even though it’s hard to argue his case on the form book. He makes his handicap debut here off 86 and given he has only hinted at ability that looks plenty high enough when you consider the selection (and nap) is racing off 83 (including his penalty).

SOUTHWELL EAGLE TO LAND AGAIN

⭕ 6.30 Southwell Eagle’s Realm is a sporting selection to land this 1m 6f handicap in a field where there are several dubious stayers.

Eagle’s Realm is the only course and distance winner in the field but is actually taking a drop BACK in trip tonight.

After notching up a hat-trick late last year he has continued to run well and I can only assume is owned by a handicapper as he doesn’t appear to be heading up much in the weights!

He looks a solid win and place proposition to win 10 points in both Betdaq markets.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
