COVE A DAQMAN BEAUTY AT BETDAQ 14.4: Lulworth Cove is a beauty spot on the Dorset Coast, but what a beauty for Daqman to spot at Lingfield last night and what a price on BETDAQ! The 11-1 winning filly at SP was 14.4 on BETDAQ at XSP.
ROYAL ASCOT COUNTDOWN: Daqman continues his Royal Ascot countdown today in an analysis of the BETDAQ Gold Cup market with a breeding projection.
KEEPING GOLD IN THE FAMILY
WHO is the daddy of them all? Until his son. Frankel, went to stud, Galileo remained the supreme champion sire, with winners including Order of St George (2016) in the Gold Cup.
Recently Sea The Stars, as sire of Stradivarius, kept Galileo off the throne for the highlight of the royal meeting over three long years.
But he came back to retake the honours last year through his son Kyprios, who ended Stradivarius’ Gold Cup reign by a neck in a photo-finish. Trueshan third, Coltrane fourth.
As well as through Frankel, when you look deeper, you find Galileo also represented down the line by Teofilo. Though only a 7f winner himself he, too, sired a Gold Cup hero in Subjectivist.
Off 618 days after injury, Subjectivist had raced only once since then before getting back his sparkle – five lengths third of 15 to Broome – in the Dubai Gold Cup in March.
The daddy who ‘never’ wins gold is Dubawi, yet he is the sire of front-of-the-market opponents, St Leger winner, Eldar Eldarov, and Group-3 two-mile winner on the soft, Emily Dickinson (Aidan O’Brien), as well as Ybir.
O’Brien could also run Point Lonsdale (by Australia by Galileo) and Team Gosden intends to saddle Courage Mon Ami (by Frankel by Galileo). It’s all about keeping it in the family.
Betdaq Betting Exchange 4 Coltrane, 4.5 Eldar Eldarov, 8 Emily Dickinson, 10 Broome, 10.5 Courage Mon Ami, Echoes In Rain and Subjectivist, 12.5 Point Lonsdale.
MOORE FROM BAY
⭕ 5.25 Newbury It’s certainly not the best Newbury card ever staged with four maidens and no race better than a class 4.
My first instinct (as it always should be with a short priced favourite) was to try and take on the Gary Moore trained Saligo Bay but you need to find something to beat it and I couldn’t!
This looks nothing other than a good opportunity for the experienced five-year-old to follow up on his Windsor win 16 days ago where he seemed to relish his first ever run on good to firm ground. With similar conditions today and just a 3lb hike he looks hard to oppose on Betdaq Betting Exchange.
As I say, his case is predominantly built around the lack of opposition. Seal Of Solomon remains on a career high mark which he was elevated to after winning at Chelmsford on the all-weather and may need relief from the handicapper whilst Wonder Starelzaam disappointed on his first try over this trip at Kempton last time out when finishing last of the eight runners and it’s slightly surprising to see him over the same yardage here.
SPOTLIGHT ON STAGE SHOW
⭕ 5.55 Newbury Some top yards represented here but there are question marks over those at the top of the market.
Intricacy (Crisfords) is having his first start on turf after three runs on the all-weather at Wolverhampton – in the latest of those he was a bitterly disappointing beaten favourite.
Nader King (Sir Michael Stoute) is facing faster ground for the first time having scrambled home in soft at Nottingham last time out.
I thought the more experienced Stage Show could go well despite his slightly less ‘sexy’ profile.
He starts handicap life on 10lb and 11lb better marks than the market leaders but arguably brings better form into the race. His staying on Ascot third last time out suggests he should go well over this longer trip.
⭕ 7.50 Kempton This looks a cracker with nine of the 11 fillies previous winners and the Gosdens running the unbeaten Marksman Queen who followed up her course and distance winning debut with a success at Southwell last time out.
From similar starting marks though I prefer the Newmarket winning form of Prepense. Sir Michael Stoute’s filly didn’t get the clearest of runs at HQ and gave the impression there was plenty more to come, especially now stepped up in trip.
