FORTUNE COOKIE COULD LAND MORE THAN 160 POINTS PROFIT: It’s the time of year – Cesarewitch week – that Daqman goes for a touch. Soon there’ll be nothing to work on but novice chases and juvenile hurdles! A 9.2 Fortune Cookie (20-points win) at Kempton tonight follows strong clues from family traits for two at Nottingham this afternoon. Headlines:

CHIL’S HOT DESPITE 9.2 ON BETDAQ
FORTUNE COOKIES: Chil Chil (7.00 Kempton today) returns to the course and distance of her victory last August, when she first went into a handicap, after the then requisite three runs in novice and maiden company.
That was in class 6. Since then she has won in class 5 on the way up to class 2 (twice successful; on the Rowley Mile and at Ascot) but she seemed unable to cope with the latest imposition of 9lb by the handicapper.
So, freshened up, she comes to a level playing-field in a conditions race, with every chance of a return to winning form (see race analysis below) at 9.2 on BETDAQ this morning.
Addeybb (Doonside Cup), Kameko (Joel Stakes) and Tarnawa (Prix de l’Opera) are the latest to win major races for the Fortune Cookies. Full list, with entries below:

STARTING YOUR DAY WITH A TOUCH
⭕ 12.30 Nottingham Charlie Appleby has a 50% strike rate with newcomers at Nottingham, and my man in the long grass rates Royal Touch an even-money chance to get off the mark and help pay for a couple of tilts at the layers today.
That compares nicely with 3.0 BETDAQ offers I took this morning!
Royal Touch is by Dubawi, who won first time on a racecourse, out of the mare, Gonbarda, who also won on the debut, and is a half-brother to Farhh, who maintained the family tradition and won first time of asking.
I also expect big things of the filly, Thunder Drum, but John Gosden doesn’t rush them. You could almost put her in a Fortune Cookies list for next year.
Thunder Drum is also a Dubawi but sister to Dubhe and Sun Bear, who both needed their first appearance on a racetrack.
Thunder Drum was very easy to back this morning (11.0 BETDAQ) and the money was for Irish Legend, a Sea The Stars colt and another one to watch out for in this race of potential top players.
Sea The Stars and the dam, Stealth Missile, both needed an outing before they got off the mark, but somebody seems to know something good about Irish Legend. It’s not my man: Hugo Palmer cuts the gallops grass too short!
DON’T MISS MARPLE ON THE CASE
⭕ 2.00 Nottingham Vindolanda must give weight to five second-season fillies. Her name takes us back to Roman times, and in the equine world the connection is that she is a daughter of Cartimandua and grand-daughter of Agrippina.
But we need look back only to Haydock in July to her ability to act on soft ground over today’s trip to see why she will have a legion of followers in the market today. I still prefer one of the three-year-olds.
My Seven is on a hat-trick mission but her career best the last day was on Kempton AW, and there’s no guarantee she can handle today’s conditions. The ‘exact same’ applies to Viola.
And the one I like is Jane Marple (BETDAQ 4.5), neatly named out of Miss Pinkerton, who landed a gamble for me when trained Geoff Wragg. Her sire, too (Nathaniel) was a big strike for me (oh, and for John Gosden) in the King George.
Jockey Robert Havlin will remember Jane Marple’s sister, Precious Ramotswe, who won a Group 3 under him at York for Gosden.
When, like Jane Marple today, and after a similar start, Precious Ramotswe made her handicap debut on soft ground three years ago, she beat a subsequent hat-trick scorer with a winner next time out in third.
CHECKING OUT A STRONG GALLOP
⭕ 7.00 Kempton Chil Chil returns to the CD of her first handicap success, 30lb higher in the ratings (63>93) after winning at Windsor, Newmarket and Ascot, but switched to the more-or-less-level playing-field in conditions company.
Harrys Bar has won here off a similar mark but he, too, has shot up the ratings (92>106). His latest success came over 7f, which also applies to Dbai.
But there should be plenty of pace on from Highland Dress, Texting and Glamorous Anna, maybe even Jash from his draw, and those few remaining that are held up behind will be happy to let them get on with it.
Texting and Glamorous Anna are 5f-only winners who should come back to them.
It was lack of a real gallop which undid Chil Chil the last day, and I remember how the half-sister to Beat The Bank quickened through the pack at Ascot off a fast pace in August.
As a Group-2 winner, the top-rated D’Bai should win it, but I marked Chil Chil down as a Fortune Cookie that day at Ascot, hoping she would get another strong gallop to play to her strengths. I think she has.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro.. Or just 10p to win!
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
