DAQMAN NO FIDDLER: DAQMAN landed a winning NAP yesterday with The Fiddler at 7/4. It gave him a profit across his three bets of the day. He follows the same staking plan today with his three picks – each to win 10 points.
12 TO FOLLOW UNTIL THE END OF THE FLAT SEASON: If you’re checking out the ante-post lists, Daqman presents his Top 12 Fortune Cookies for the rest of the season. TOMORROW: Top 12 two-year-old ratings.
THE FORTUNE COOKIES’ HOT DOZEN
FORTUNE COOKIES for the end of the season are about horses I think will win more major races this year. So it is that the two two-year-olds in the list are seen only as precocious.
A list of two-year-olds with next year in mind will be published later in the year. Meanwhile I’ll give a ratings list of quality juveniles tomorrow.

LOGAN FOR LISTED HAT-TRICK
1.40 Yarmouth Restless Rose has only ever won once on the turf but it came here at Yarmouth and a follow-up win looks on the cards in this company.
Having been beaten a neck and 1/2 length in her last two races, it will be richly deserved win too. The handicapper has given her a chance – keeping her on 74. So often horses head up in the weights after good placed efforts.
Stuart Williams has booked talented 7lb claimer Marco Ghiani for the ride and the combination stand out against mainly out of form rivals.
2.45 Yarmouth (John Musker Fillies’ Stakes Listed) Fanny Logan should complete the Listed race hat-trick here.
The John Gosden trained filly is comfortably clear on official ratings now that the Andrew Balding trained Look Around is a non runner.
Fanny Logan is seemingly much improved by the fitting of a hood, judged by her Listed race wins at York (won by 2 1/14 lengths) and Salisbury last time out where she stormed home by seven lengths on soft ground.
Whilst the ground is faster today it was good at York when she won and she had previously won on good ground at Wetherby.
Rather than the going, the negative would be the wide draw in 16 but I’m hoping she has so much in hand and is still improving enough to get over that problem.
3.25 Sandown (Fortune Stakes Listed) Sandown stage their final flat card of the season this afternoon and clerk of the course Andrew Cooper reports the ground as being on the ‘fast side of good’ in his morning tweet.
This Listed race sees Turgenev at the top of the market – he made the headlines this season when getting beaten !! He saved bookmakers reported fortunes when foiling Frankie Dettori from attempting to go through the card at Royal Ascot when he was overhauled very late home in the Britannia Handicap for which he started the 7/2 favourite as the market built in the Frankie Factor.
Since then he has finished fourth at Newmarket and runner-up to Duke Of Hazzard in the Group 2 Ladbrokes Celebration Mile at Goodwood. Strong form and a Listed race should be well within his grasp but for all his talent he has struggled for a win this season and has had quite a hard campaign in tough races.
In contrast, King of Change is having just his third race of the year and is narrowly preferred. The Richard Hannon trained runner is having his first race since his shock 66/1 second to Magna Grecia in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket.
If that form was taken literally he’d be long odds on to win this but there is the concern that he hasn’t raced since. Hopefully the 137 day break will be a positive and he can prove his Guineas run was no fluke.
