Euro 2012 is under way in Poland and Ukraine and got off to a flying start with the game in Warsaw on Friday evening. Let’s hope all the drama between Poland and Greece is a sign of things to come as we are set for a brilliant few weeks of football with a mass of markets available on Betdaq.
There are brilliant games on Saturday and Sunday and I’m particularly looking forward to Spain against Italy and Republic of Ireland v Croatia.
As I said last week, France are my fancy to win the tournament and I’m pleased to plenty of money for them on the Daq and they are now trading at 11.5/12. England seem friendless at 16.5/17.
The French are on a real roll, unbeaten in 21 games and while England have been having an injury nightmare, they have been boosted by the quick return to fitness of key midfielder and Arsenal target Yann M’Vila. I fear France are on a different level to England and think 2.62 on them to top Group D is one of the bets of the tournament (England are 1.73 to qualify).
As for the game on Monday I’m amazed that France aren’t shorter than 2.52/2..54 – England are trading at 3.4/3.45. I’m hosting a screening of the game in the city with Ray Parlour and Matt Le Tissier, and I think the latter will be looking for his Gallic routes as I think the French will win.
Another fancy is Croatia to qualify from Group C. The team did not impress in their final warm-up match but I still think they have the ability to do well and I’m keen to oppose the Italians, who you can lay to qualify at 1.86, which looks a great bet. Spain should win the group but 2.6 on Croatia to qualify for the quarter-finals looks attractive.
