EURO 2016 SUNDAY: The final quarter-final between FRANCE v ICELAND will be played at 8pm on Sunday.

8pm Who would have expected Iceland to be in the Quarter-Finals of Euro 2016 but here they are – the market is again not giving them much chance, with the odds at the time of writing France 1.46, Iceland 9.2 and the draw 4.8. Obviously there’s been a huge amount made of what a small nation they are population wise, but lets not forget that they managed to keep Holland from qualifying for the tournament, are unbeaten in the tournament thus far and lost just once in their last ten competitive matches.
England were desperate against Iceland though in the Last 16, so while they do stand a chance and are an improving side, this is certainly a few levels up and could be just the one step too far against the home nation who came back very strongly after going into half-time 1-0 down against Ireland. It’s hard to see Iceland winning in 90 minutes, but they should be able to frustrate this French side who have done all their goal scoring late in the tournament so far – 11 of their 12 goals have came in the second half. It could be risky playing the under 2.5 markets at 1.9 just on the bias of a slow French start and a decent Iceland defence – but we think it could be worth laying the France/France HT/FT result at around 2.4 – Draw/France could be worthy of interest at 4.5+ too.
