EURO 2016 FRIDAY: The second quarter-final between WALES v BELGIUM will be played at 8pm on Friday.
Wales v Belgium
8pm An interesting match ahead tonight with Belgium having failed to beat Wales twice in qualifying – the match odds at the time of writing are Wales 5.5, Belgium 1.88 and the draw 3.45. If this meeting had come straight from the group stage, we may have considered backing Wales, however they were very poor going forward against Northern Ireland. In fairness to Wales, it was a pretty boring game from both sides, however you would have expected Wales to do much better, their only shot on target was a Bale freekick, they created very little and 0-0 seemed nailed on until the own goal from Northern Ireland.
Belgium meanwhile have found their stride in the tournament since their opening game defeat against Italy, they have also kept three clean sheets in a row while scoring eight at the other end – impressive stats considering it’s been a low scoring tournament in general. After two reasonably early goals last night, things settled down in the second half, the fear of losing kicked in a bit, and considering that the last three meetings between the sides have only seen three goals – we could be heading for another cagey night here.
Wales played pretty cagey against Northern Ireland considering they should have had the confidence that they were the better side, and you feel Belgium are a lot more suited to counter attacking. We see Belgium winning but at 1.88 we are more inclined to back under 2.5 goals at 1.63 as our best bet in what should be another tight game between the sides.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 1.63.
