THURSDAY EUROPA LEAGUE: We preview Thursday’s Europa League games between BATE BORISOV v ARSENAL and EVERTON V APOLLON LIMASSOL with a recommended BETDAQ bet for both games.
BATE BORISOV V ARSENAL
6pm It’s a Thursday night in the Europa League, however this clash just as easily could have been in the Champions League. BATE have qualified for the Champions League group stages in four of the last six seasons, so they will be no pushover for Arsenal. Nonetheless, Arsenal are heavy odds on favourites to win, with the match odds at the time of writing; BATE 7.4, Arsenal 1.53 and the draw is 4.5.
You have to feel that Arsenal are simply too short to back at 1.53 away from home here against a solid enough side like BATE. It’s been well documented that Arsenal aren’t the same force away from home as they are at home, and the 1.53 feels like a great value lay. BATE have had some very good results in Europe, taking points off Bayern, Barcelona and Roma is recent years. Given that Arsenal didn’t play their strongest XI in their first fixture here and found themselves 1-0 down at HT at home to Koln – we can see this being a really tough night for Arsenal and the 1.53 looks a great lay from a value point of view.

EVERTON V APOLLON LIMASSOL
8.05pm Things were looking bad for Everton at 1-0 down at home to Bournemouth at the weekend with time running out, they managed to turn it around though and they will be hoping to build on that here. They’ve had a very tough start to the season in the Premier League fixture wise, however the worries have come from the way they have got beaten, rather than United, Chelsea and Spurs actually beating them. They need a win here, having lost on matchday one 3-0 against Atalanta, and the markets strongly believe they will win easily.
Everton currently trade 1.31 at the time of writing, with Apollon Limassol 12.5 and the draw 5.8. The reality is that Everton should really outclass this side, and they should take great confidence in their come-from-behind win at the weekend. We like Everton on the handicap at around 1.9 -1.5 goals.
