FA CUP MONDAY: We preview Monday’s game between CHELSEA v MAN U with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
CHELSEA V MANCHESTER UNITED
7.45pm This was the glamour tie of the round and with easy wins for the three favourites at the weekend, hopefully we get some high drama tonight! Chelsea are 1.8 favourites at the time of writing and rightly so, given they ran out the easiest of winners when the sides met here earlier in the Premier League season. Manchester United also had the added headache of midweek travel, having played a Europa League game in Russia on Thursday, while Chelsea had all week to prepare.
So if there is to be a quick start, it’s more than likely to come from Chelsea. United face the added challenge of being without their main man Zlatan Ibranimovic too after his three game ban. Given the circumstances, and the way Chelsea have been playing this season – a United back at 5.9 doesn’t appeal much at all, and maybe their best hope to get through is to come away with a draw here and get to Old Trafford.
You’d have to think that Jose Mourinho will likely employ dull tactics here, as he usually does in clashes with big sides, and with the a few things against United – it seems obvious that he will. Under 2.5 goals is 1.75, and that will appeal to many.
However, we prefer the Chelsea back at 1.8 – it just seems a few ticks too big given the circumstances. United are in good form at the moment, there’s no doubt about that – but after traveling to Russia midweek and without Zlatan, this seems a good time to be against them in the markets.
