FA CUP: We preview Sunday’s FA Cup Third Round matches, each with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
NEWPORT COUNTY V LEEDS
12pm An interesting start to Sunday’s FA Cup action! With the amount of rain we have had this week, the pitch could be a topic of debate this weekend – conditions will certainly be different to what Leeds are used to anyway and it could be a factor in deciding the outcome. Leeds are odds on, but only just – they are currently trading 1.92 at the time of writing. Many punters may feel that this is a big price for a Championship side against a League Two side – however we expect a tough game for the visitors. They have failed to find the net in their last two games, and prior to that haven’t been firing in the goals either. Newport have only been beaten once in their last six games, albeit at a much lower level, but with home advantage being a factor here, we like the Leeds lay at 1.92.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Leeds at 1.92.

SHREWSBURY V WEST HAM
2pm West Ham came very close to getting yet another away win against Spurs on Thursday night, and if they carry that form into this fixture – the 2.02 on an away win will look massive. They have definitely improved under David Moyes, and are getting some nice results lately, however it would be foolish to just assume they will beat the lower league side here. Shrewsbury are having a great season in League One, and currently sit in second just two points off Wigan in top spot. They are unbeaten in their last six games, and will surely be full of confidence going into this one in front of their home fans. Moyes was commenting during the week that he “had no players” to bring in, so perhaps he may choose to not play his first XI after a busy Christmas Period. We’ll have to wait for the team news, however we expect this to a tight affair, and there is certainly a little value in laying West Ham at 2.02.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay West Ham at 2.02.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST V ARSENAL
4pm It’s always tempting to take Arsenal on away from home, however they look like a big price here. That being said, backing Arsenal away from home simply has to come with a wealth warning – they’ve only won twice in their 14 away games this season! They drop in class here though, and meet Nottingham Forest in poor form. Forest are without a win in their last five, and have failed to even score in their last three. This was at a lower level too, and as we seen in the Europa League this season, Arsenal tend to boss games when they meet sides at a much lower level than them. We understand backing Arsenal away from home isn’t bombproof, however at 1.6 to beat an out-of-form Forest side, we’re happy to take a chance at those odds.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Arsenal to beat Nottingham Forest at 1.6.
